Which lifting treatment is right for you?

Lifting platforms are sorted by the depth they reach. Focused ultrasound is aimed at the SMAS layer at 4.5 mm, with 3.0 mm and 1.5 mm passes above it. Monopolar radiofrequency heats the dermis broadly. Microwave energy is absorbed by water-rich tissue under the skin. Threads sit in the subcutaneous plane and move tissue mechanically on the day. Dear Clinic carries eight platforms across those four kinds of physics, and your EVE Muse 3D + AI diagnosis decides which depth is treated.

Sagging is not one problem. A face can lose deep structural support at the SMAS layer, lose collagen density in the dermis, lose volume in the fat compartments, or simply carry heavier tissue than its ligaments can hold — and each of those loosens differently. The variable that decides your plan is which of them has moved and by how much. That is a measurement. The EVE Muse scan takes it, and the reading is what a device is matched to.

Each of the eight is listed below with the depth it reaches, the unit it is measured and billed in — shots, kilojoules or threads — the downtime it carries and where its published price starts. If you already know your own concern, the comparison table is the fastest way in. At consultation your director works from the scan, and if the finding is that a lifting treatment is not the right answer for your face this year, you hear that before a booking is made.

Side by Side

Depth, unit and downtime, side by side

One face is usually a candidate for two or three of these and a poor candidate for the rest. Depth decides which, and the unit column is what you are actually billed in.

Guides that compare two lifting platforms

Dear, Knowhow

What carrying all eight platforms changes

01 — THE FULL ARSENAL

Ultrasound, RF, microwave and threads on one floor

Eight platforms across four kinds of physics sit on the same two floors, 5F and 7F. Whichever depth the scan points at — SMAS at 4.5 mm, dermis, water-rich subcutaneous tissue, or a mechanical vector — the matching device is already here. No single platform has to fit every face that walks in.

02 — DIAGNOSIS FIRST

The EVE Muse scan sets the depth before the device

EVE Muse combines 3D imaging, five light sources and AI analysis, and what it produces for a lifting plan is a set of measurements: skin thickness, elasticity, and the direction and degree of descent. Those numbers fix the layer. Only once the layer is fixed does a platform name enter the conversation, and the shot count, tip tier or kilojoule figure is written at the same moment.

03 — DIRECTOR-PERFORMED

Shot lines and thread vectors placed by the planner

Lifting is a placement discipline. Shot lines, tip tier, kilojoule pacing and thread vectors each change the result, so the director who read your scan is the one holding the handpiece. Follow-up sits inside the course: energy work is reviewed in months, a thread lift at one to two weeks once the tightness has eased.

The Method

From scan to shot count

Four steps in a fixed order. A platform name appears at step three, and the number attached to it is written in the same breath.

01

Measure the layer that moved

Descent and thinning look alike in a mirror and separate under the scan. Thickness, elasticity and the direction the tissue is travelling are written down as figures. A platform name is not.

02

Rule out the depths that do not apply

Deep structural laxity points at focused ultrasound or a thread vector. Dermal looseness and crepe texture point at monopolar radiofrequency. A soft, water-heavy contour points at microwave. Two or three of the eight normally survive this step, and the ones set aside are set aside with a reason you are given.

03

Set the shot count and the tips

Now the numbers: 100-shot increments for focused ultrasound, a 600-shot tip for Thermage FLX, 300 shots at Classic, High or Alpha for Density, kilojoules for Onda and New Titanium, or a thread count with its vector map. Where two platforms genuinely complement each other, the interval between them is part of the same written plan.

04

Review at the collagen interval

Your director performs the session and books the review to match the mechanism: two to three months for ultrasound-driven collagen, one to two weeks for a thread lift once the tightness has settled. Maintenance is scheduled when that review calls for it.

If the scan shows nothing a lifting platform can usefully move this year, the consultation ends there and you are told why. The limits are named in the same conversation: energy sessions leave redness and a tight, heavy feeling for a day or two; threads can bruise, swell or dimple along the line for several days; badly placed energy risks a burn or nerve irritation, which is why the depth is confirmed on the scan before the handpiece is loaded.

FAQ

Shots, depths and downtime, answered

Which lifting treatment is right for me?
The one that reaches the depth your scan says has loosened. Focused ultrasound is placed at 4.5 mm for the SMAS layer, with 3.0 and 1.5 mm passes above it; monopolar radiofrequency heats the dermis across a wider field; microwave energy is taken up by water-rich tissue under the skin; threads move tissue along a mapped vector on the day. Because all eight platforms are in the building, the EVE Muse 3D + AI reading narrows the field before a name is spoken, and you approve the written plan before anything starts.
How much do lifting treatments cost in Seoul?
Base units run from ₩150,000 (≈ $105) for 300 shots of Shurink Universe to ₩2,200,000 (≈ $1,570) for a 600-shot Thermage FLX tip. Focused ultrasound is ₩400,000 (≈ $285) per 100 shots, Density Classic is ₩700,000 (≈ $500) per 300 shots with High and Alpha tips priced above it, Onda is ₩500,000 (≈ $355) for 60 kJ, New Titanium ₩600,000 (≈ $430) for 40 kJ, and threads from ₩100,000 (≈ $70) each. Your total is the base unit multiplied by the count your plan calls for, confirmed in writing at consultation.
Can two lifting platforms be combined in one course?
Often, and the reason is that they work at different depths. Focused ultrasound at the SMAS layer and monopolar radiofrequency across the dermis answer different findings, so a face carrying both deep descent and surface looseness may be planned as a sequence with a deliberate interval between the two. Threads are sometimes added to energy work for a vector that energy alone cannot supply. What has to be true is that each element traces back to something the scan recorded.
How much downtime does each lifting technology carry?
The seven energy platforms carry very little. Expect warmth during the pass, mild redness afterwards, and for the ultrasound sessions a tight or heavy feeling that can last a day or two; most people go back to their plans the same afternoon. A thread lift is the exception. Swelling and bruising are common for several days, a puckered or dimpled line can show while the tissue settles, and the pulling sensation eases over one to two weeks. Saunas, alcohol and abrasive skincare are best left alone for a few days after any of them.
I have never had a lifting treatment. Where should I start?
Start with the measurement. That said, two of the eight are commonly used as a first step: Shurink Universe, planned in 300-shot sessions at ₩150,000 (≈ $105), and New Titanium at ₩600,000 (≈ $430) for 40 kJ, which is one of the milder sessions here. Both are reversible in the sense that nothing is implanted. If the scan shows early laxity that has not yet reached the SMAS layer, your director will say so and may suggest returning in a year.
When will I see a result, and how long does it hold?
Energy platforms do not finish on the day they are performed. Some tightening reads immediately as existing collagen contracts, and the substantive change accumulates over roughly two to three months for the ultrasound sessions and across several months for radiofrequency. Threads are the opposite shape: an immediate lift that settles over one to two weeks, then collagen forming along the thread paths. How long any of it holds differs from face to face with skin, age, area and lifestyle, so duration is judged at your review appointment instead of promised here.
What can go wrong with an energy lifting session?
The common events are minor and short: redness, warmth, a tight or heavy feeling, and occasional tenderness over bone. The events that matter are rarer and come from energy placed at the wrong depth or over the wrong structure, which can mean a burn, a blistered patch, or temporary numbness and weakness where a nerve has been irritated. Thread work adds bruising, swelling, dimpling and, uncommonly, a thread that becomes palpable or migrates. Confirming depth on the scan first, and having the director who read it perform the session, is how those risks are kept low.
How many shots or kilojoules will my face need?
It depends on the area and on how much of it is being treated. Focused ultrasound is planned in 100-shot increments and a full lower face plus jawline usually needs several of them; Thermage FLX is sold as a single 600-shot tip; Density and XERF are planned per 300 shots; Onda and New Titanium are dosed in kilojoules, from 60 and 40 kJ respectively. Your director writes the count on the plan before you agree to it, and the count is what the published unit price is multiplied by.
Can I have a lifting treatment the same day as my consultation?
Usually. Diagnosis and consultation take about thirty minutes, and if your director confirms the finding and you approve the plan, an energy session can follow immediately; a thread lift is more often booked for a separate visit so the vector map can be drawn without haste. Dear Clinic is open 365 days a year, weekdays 10:00–19:00 and weekends and public holidays 10:00–16:00, with no lunch-break closure, so a Sunday lifting appointment is an ordinary slot.
Are lifting prices the same for international visitors?
Yes. One published rate card covers residents and visitors alike, shown in Korean won with a US dollar figure for reference, and because lifting is billed by unit — shots, kilojoules or threads — the arithmetic is visible on the plan you sign. The full list is on our price list page, and our 365-day opening page covers weekend and holiday scheduling.

Science behind lifting & tightening — peer-reviewed references

The three families of lifting technology offered here — focused ultrasound, radiofrequency and absorbable threads — each carry their own published clinical literature. A randomised split-face trial has compared monopolar radiofrequency directly against microfocused ultrasound with visualization; it is the second reference below. These papers inform how depth, energy and technique are selected after your EVE Muse 3D + AI diagnosis.

All references carry verifiable DOIs from indexed journals. They describe these technologies in general clinical use; the depths, shot counts and intervals your own face needs are set at your diagnosis.
