What is Dear Cut?

Dear Cut is Dear Clinic's signature body lipolysis injection: small injections into the fat layer of one mapped zone — arm and underarm, abdomen, flanks or thigh line — to soften the outline your clothing sits on. What carries the Dear name is the design around it: the line is decided first, the line is broken into 40 cc zones, and each zone is dosed at the smallest unit that moves it.

Most menus name the pocket. We start a step earlier, at the silhouette you actually described in the consultation room — a sleeveless dress, a shoulder line that reads square in photographs, a waist that a tailored jacket has to close over. From that sentence the director works backwards to the zones that carry it, and only then decides which of them answer to a needle at all.

A line is rarely one thing. The upper arm that bothers you may be part soft tissue and part slackness in the skin above the elbow, and no volume of injection will ever improve the second half of that description. Reading the two apart before the first session is what stops a course from being extended in the hope that it eventually works.

One boundary belongs here. Dear Cut is contour work on a defined zone and has no effect on your weight, and nobody at this clinic will present it otherwise. Outcomes differ between individuals, and the zone we drew is where the result is judged — on the border, in the mirror, at review.

Zones

Which zones carry which line

Four zones cover almost every line request we receive. You are prescribed the ones your own line needs, one at a time, and a plan of a single zone is a normal outcome of the reading.

ZONE 01

Arm & underarm

The upper-arm curve together with the soft fold that gathers at the underarm border. Commonly asked about before sleeveless events, and almost always planned as a matched pair, because one arm treated alone tends to become the reason for a second course.

ZONE 02

Abdomen

The front panel above and below the navel, where depth changes noticeably over a short span. Drawn while you stand, because an abdomen that looks even lying down can tell a different story upright under a waistband.

ZONE 03

Flanks

The side seam that decides whether a fitted top runs cleanly from ribs to hip. Treated as a continuation of the abdomen border, so the join between the two does not read as a step.

ZONE 04

Thigh line

The inner and upper thigh, where a small change in outline shows up in a narrow skirt long before it shows anywhere else. The zone here is usually smaller than patients expect, and deliberately so.

Zones are proposed at diagnosis and confirmed with you before anything is opened. If your line needs two of them, you are quoted for two; if the reading says one zone carries most of it, you are quoted for one and told why.

How a Dear Cut plan is built

These four steps run in a fixed order. Reversing any two of them is the usual reason a course runs longer than it needed to.

STEP 01

Read the line before the lump

The EVE Muse 3D capture and five-light-source AI analysis are taken with you standing, then read alongside the outfit or occasion you came in describing. What comes out is a line brief in one sentence. Sometimes the finding at that step is that no injection serves the line you described.

STEP 02

Break the line into zones

The brief is translated into borders drawn on your skin in the mirror. Each border is one 40 cc zone, which is also one priced unit, so what you agree to and what you are charged for are the same drawing. Nothing outside a border is treated.

STEP 03

Dose at the minimum unit

Each zone starts at the smallest dose the director judges capable of moving that outline, spread across the border instead of concentrated. A zone that has been over-dosed cannot be unwound, so the first pass is deliberately conservative and any addition is decided at review.

STEP 04

Assign what a needle cannot do

Where part of the line comes from laxity or from proportion instead of volume, that part is handed to a different tool in the same plan — and written down as such, so you can see which problem each appointment is answering.

Where Dear Cut sits inside LINE care

Step four is not a formality. In the upper-body LINE care built into the Dear Wedding Program, three different questions arrive wearing the same complaint. Softening the arm and underarm volume is the Dear Cut part. Slackness along the back of the arm is handed to Onda body contouring, which delivers microwave energy through the skin instead of placing anything under it. Proportion — the square shoulder that changes how the whole upper body reads — is a shoulder filler question and nothing else.

Written as one plan, those three run in a sensible order instead of competing for the same weeks. That sequencing is also why the Dear Wedding Program maps its line work against the countdown the clinic publishes: base skin and line work from about sixty days out, texture and proportion adjusted near forty-five, firmness through the thirty-day window, and the last fortnight held for settling and final dress fit.

The Appointment

What a session is actually like

The appointment itself is brief. Swelling, bruising and the weeks over which the outline actually moves are the parts a Dear Cut plan has to be built around.

ON THE DAY

Marking while you stand, then the placement

Drawing the borders in the mirror takes longer than placing the injections does. You feel the entries and then a spreading warmth through the zone that eases within minutes of finishing, and you leave dressed and unbandaged.

THE FIRST WEEK

Swelling is the visible part

The zone swells and feels firm and tender, sometimes noticeably so for the first few days, and can bruise. That is the expected course for this injection, and it is why the timing conversation happens before you book.

THE COURSE

Reviewed zone by zone

Change accumulates over the weeks between visits, so each zone is re-read before it is repeated instead of topped up on a schedule. When a zone reaches the line you asked for, that zone stops even if another one continues.

Timing it around a dress or a flight

Two dates decide most Dear Cut plans: the day you want the line to look its best, and the day you fly. Because the swollen phase sits in the first week and the change itself arrives over the weeks after, a first session booked close to an event gives you the downside without the upside. Brides are planned backwards from the wedding date; visitors are planned around the middle of the trip, never into its last evening.

Say at the consultation how long you are in Seoul. A short stay is usually written as one zone begun here and reviewed remotely, because compressing a course into a single week gives the tissue no time to answer between visits. We are open 365 days a year, weekends and public holidays included, which makes a follow-up inside a trip easier to place.

Where It Sits

When something else is the better answer

All four are available in the same building, and which one you are offered is settled by the EVE reading at diagnosis.

OPTION A

Onda body contouring

Energy delivered through the skin, with nothing placed under it. Where the complaint is firmness and slackness across a broad area, or where you would prefer to avoid needles entirely, this is the recommendation — see Onda body.

OPTION B

Body botulinum toxin

When a calf or a shoulder reads bulky because the muscle underneath is well developed, the outline is a muscle question. Softening volume around a developed muscle changes nothing, so that line is addressed by body botulinum toxin instead.

OPTION C

The injection on its own

Dear Cut is our design wrapper around the same injection. If you want the treatment described generically, without the line brief and the sequencing, that page is lipolysis injection — identical published rate, different framing.

OPTION D

Nothing, for now

Sometimes the reading says the line you described is proportion rather than volume, or that the zone is too small to be worth a course. Being told that in the consultation room is a legitimate outcome and costs you nothing.

Dear Cut carries our name and is still not the default answer to a body enquiry. A plan that turns out to need fewer zones finishes cheaper, and the alternatives that were considered are listed on the same sheet.

02 — THREE THINGS TOLD APART

Volume, laxity and proportion read apart at capture

The consultation opens with EVE Muse 3D capture and five-light-source AI analysis, so the difference between fat volume, skin laxity and skeletal proportion is settled before a plan is drawn, and the same reading is repeated at review to judge each zone against how it started.

03 — DIRECTOR-PERFORMED

Marked, injected and reviewed by the same director

Placement across a border is the entire technique here, and it is director-performed. The person adjusting depth mid-session is the one who marked you standing. The same director reads the zone again at review.

cost in Seoul?

Dear Cut is published at ₩80,000 (≈ $55) for one 40 cc zone per session at Dear Clinic in Cheongdam. Two zones in one visit are simply two units. The signature name does not carry a signature surcharge — the design, the zone map and the EVE reading are part of the consultation, and the published rate is the same for residents and international visitors.

Caution

What to expect, and what to report

Injectable fat reduction carries a published adverse-event literature. The list below is drawn from it, and the papers themselves are cited at the foot of this page.

Swelling, firmness, tenderness and bruising over the treated zone are expected and can be pronounced in the first days — plan the session away from anything sleeveless or fitted.
Temporary changes in sensation across the zone can occur and usually settle; tell us if they do not, without waiting for the next appointment.
Keep saunas, hot baths, alcohol and hard training aside while the swelling is active, and do not massage the zone unless we have specifically asked you to.
Report spreading redness, heat, severe pain, an open area of skin, or anything that gets worse instead of better — contact the clinic straight away, without waiting for the scheduled review.
Tell us at consultation about your medication, bleeding tendencies, allergies, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding; some situations mean this treatment is not offered at all.
Judge the zone at review and not in the mirror on day three — the swollen phase and the actual change do not arrive on the same schedule, and results vary between individuals.

What exactly is Dear Cut?
It is Dear Clinic's signature body lipolysis injection — a fat-reduction injection placed into the fat layer of one mapped 40 cc zone. It is body work, and the acne and scar programme with a similar-sounding name is D-ARC.
Is Dear Cut worth it?
It is worth it when you can point to a defined zone that has held its shape while everything around it responded to your own effort, and when there are weeks between now and the date you care about. As a route around body composition it is a poor use of money, and the reading at diagnosis will say so before you book.
How much does Dear Cut cost in Seoul?
One 40 cc zone is ₩80,000 (≈ $55) per session, and two zones treated in the same visit count as two units. Booked generically without the line design, the same injection is ₩80,000 (≈ $55) — the signature name adds no surcharge. Residents and international visitors pay the same published rate.
Which zones can be treated?
Arm and underarm, abdomen, flanks and the thigh line. Suitability is decided by examining the zone, because a photograph cannot tell volume from slackness, and the two need different treatments. Zones are proposed at diagnosis and confirmed with you before anything is opened.
Does Dear Cut change my weight?
No. It acts on the zone we drew and does nothing to the tissue around it or to what a scale says. Where the goal is overall body composition, training, nutrition and time serve you far better than any number of zones, and that is said in the consultation room before a booking is taken.
Why is it called Dear Cut if it is the same injection?
Because the name belongs to the method. The injection itself is the standard lipolysis injection, published at the same rate on both pages. Dear Cut is the line-first planning wrapped around it — brief, zone map, minimum dose, and an explicit hand-off of whatever part of the line an injection cannot reach.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the size and depth of the zone and on how your own tissue responds. Your director gives an estimate at diagnosis and re-reads the zone before each repeat instead of fixing a number in advance. If a zone reaches the line you asked for sooner, that zone stops there even if another one continues.
How long is the downtime, and when can I wear the dress?
You return to ordinary plans the same day, but the zone swells and can bruise for several days, so a first session booked close to an event gives you the swollen phase without the change. Work backwards from the date instead: brides are planned from the wedding day, visitors from the flight home.
Should I have Onda instead for my arms?
If the complaint is slackness rather than volume, yes — energy through the skin answers that and a needle does not. Many arm plans use both, sequenced across separate weeks. Which one leads is decided on the EVE reading, and both are in this building, so neither is the cheaper thing to recommend.
Can it be combined with shoulder filler or the wedding programme?

Can the line brief and the first zone happen on one visit?
Usually yes. The EVE reading, the line brief and the doctor consultation all happen in the same visit, and if the zone is suitable the first session can follow immediately. Bring or describe the outfit the line is for — the brief is easier to write against a specific neckline or waistband. We are open 365 days a year including Sundays and public holidays, which helps when a short trip has to hold both visits.

Injectable fat reduction has been studied most rigorously under the chin. That trial literature is why a Dear Cut plan is written as a course with review points between visits.
