Belotero Filler

Merz makes Belotero in Germany as a cohesive hyaluronic acid gel that spreads into the tissue around it instead of holding a pocket. That single property is why it is reached for in thin skin and fine lines — and why a firmer gel is reached for when a chin or a cheek needs to be pushed forward.

About

What a cohesive gel does under thin skin

Belotero is a hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler made by Merz in Germany. Its gel is evenly cross-linked and cohesive, so once it is injected it spreads into the tissue around it instead of holding its shape as a discrete pocket, and that behaviour is what keeps a correction in thin skin from showing a hard edge at the border. The trade is straightforward. A gel that blends this readily gives less projection per cc than a firm one, so Belotero is chosen where a smooth surface matters more than lift.

The Belotero cartons photographed in the treatment room here cover Soft, Balance, Intense and Volume, alongside Belotero Revive for skin quality. The lines differ in gel firmness, and the director picks one by the plane being filled: the finest sits shallow in the dermis, the firmer ones go deeper. Placement is then written to 0.1 cc across the Deep, Mid and Superficial planes. Belotero is listed at ₩300,000 (≈ $215) per cc on the clinic's published price list.

Where It Suits

Which areas the Belotero lines are chosen for

The zone decides the gel. Belotero earns its place where the skin covering the injection is thin enough that a firmer product would read through it as a ridge or a shadow.

01

Fine lines etched in the dermis

Creases that stay visible when the face is at rest. A cohesive gel placed shallow fills them without raising the stiff border a firmer product can leave.

02

Skin thin enough to see through

Where surface vessels are visible, a firm gel telegraphs its own outline. Belotero spreading through the surrounding tissue is what stops the correction announcing itself.

03

Nasolabial folds and the lip lines

The fold from nose to mouth corner and the fine lines above the lip are in motion all day. A gel that integrates moves with them, which counts for more here than in a static area.

04

Belotero Revive for skin quality

Revive is the water-binding member of the range and is spread as a fine layer across a zone. It smooths and hydrates the surface; it adds no projection.

For projection — a chin that has to come forward, a cheek that needs support, a nose bridge — the gel has to hold its own shape, and that is a job for a firmer HA. We do not recommend the soft, integrating Belotero lines for that work, and the consultation says so before a quote is written.

How Dear designs with Belotero

Every filler here runs through the same four stages. What changes for Belotero is the plane the gel is allowed to sit in, and how little of it goes in on each pass.

STEP 01

Dear Shape — reading the line to be filled

The crease is measured at rest, then measured again while you talk. A line that only appears in movement is filled differently from one etched into skin that is standing still, so its depth, its length and the thickness of skin above it all go on the record before anything is planned.

STEP 02

Dear LayerFill — small passes, chosen plane

Belotero goes in as several small passes along the line instead of one bolus, each shallower than the last. Because this gel spreads on its own, the plane matters more than the volume: placed too superficially a cohesive HA can scatter light and leave a faint bluish-grey shadow, which is why the depth is settled before the syringe is opened.

STEP 03

Dear BalanceControl — checked mid-treatment

Left and right are compared after the first pass and again before the last, so an asymmetry is corrected while there is still gel left to correct it with.

STEP 04

Dear LineFit — smoothed and shown to you

The fill is worked smooth by hand along its length, then you sit up and check it in a mirror under the room lighting. Anything reading as a ridge is worked down before you leave.

Doses are written to 0.1 cc per plane, and the map of what went where is kept on your chart. A top-up at review then starts from that record.

Dear, Knowhow

How Dear decides that Belotero is the right gel

01 — WHEN A FIRMER GEL WINS

Where Belotero is the wrong choice

Chin projection, cheek support and nose bridges need a gel that keeps its own shape. Belotero's soft and balance-grade lines are the wrong tool there, and we do not recommend them for it.

02 — THE SCAN

EVE Muse sets the plane before the gel is picked

The face is captured in three dimensions under five light sources, which shows how much skin covers each line being treated. Thin skin narrows the shortlist fast. Plane, line and cc are written on the plan in that order.

03 — DIRECTOR-PERFORMED & GENUINE

Genuine Merz stock, and the hand that places it

Belotero here comes from genuine Merz supply and the carton is shown to you before it is opened. Your treatment is designed and performed by our directors, which counts for a great deal with this material, because the risks of filler are almost entirely placement risks: a bruise where a vessel is clipped on the way in, a lump where too much gel sits in one spot, and the rare, serious one, occlusion of a vessel by gel delivered into it. Aspiration, slow delivery and small volumes per pass are the working answers to all three.

How much does Belotero filler
cost in Seoul?

At Dear Clinic in Cheongdam, Belotero (Germany) is ₩300,000 (≈ $215) per 1 cc, sitting on the same published list as the other imported and Korean HA fillers. How much you need follows the area: a single fine line seldom takes a whole syringe, while a pair of nasolabial folds usually does. Korean patients and international visitors are quoted from that one list. Your total is fixed at the consultation, before any carton is opened.

Caution

The first days after a Belotero session

Swelling and redness at the puncture points are ordinary for the first day or two.
A small bruise is common where a vessel was clipped; leave the area unpressed and unmassaged.
Keep away from saunas, hard exercise, alcohol and very hot rooms while the swelling settles.
Heavy makeup and stimulating skincare wait until the entry points have closed.
Pain out of proportion, blanching or a dusky patch means call the clinic straight away; those are the signs of vascular compromise and they are treated urgently.

FAQ

Belotero filler, answered

Which Belotero line would I be getting?
That follows the plane. The clinic holds Soft, Balance, Intense and Volume, plus Belotero Revive for skin quality, and the director names the line at the consultation once the scan has shown how much skin covers the area. Every one of them is Merz product from genuine supply.
How much does Belotero filler cost in Seoul?
Belotero (Germany) is ₩300,000 (≈ $215) per 1 cc at Dear Clinic, on the same published list as the other imported and Korean HA fillers. A single fine line rarely uses a full syringe; a pair of nasolabial folds usually does. Your exact cc and total are set at the consultation and fixed before anything is opened.
What makes Belotero different from other HA fillers?
Belotero is made by Merz in Germany with an evenly cross-linked, cohesive gel designed for high tissue integration — it blends into the surrounding skin instead of holding its shape as a discrete pocket. That is an advantage in delicate, thin-skinned areas and fine, superficial lines, and a disadvantage anywhere you need the gel to push a contour forward.
Which areas is Belotero used for at Dear Clinic?
Fine lines etched at rest, thin-skinned zones where a firmer gel would show its outline, the nasolabial folds and the lines above the lip. Belotero Revive is used across a zone for surface smoothness and hydration. Chin projection, cheek support and nose bridges are planned with a firmer gel.
Is the Belotero at Dear Clinic genuine?
Yes. It comes from genuine Merz supply, and the carton is shown to you before it is opened so you can read the line and the batch yourself. Design and injection are done by our directors.
How long does Belotero filler last?
HA softens as the body breaks it down, and the pace of that depends on the line used, the area, the amount placed and your own metabolism; areas that move a great deal fade faster than still ones. Dear Clinic does not publish a fixed duration for Belotero. Your review appointment is where a top-up gets decided.
Does Belotero hurt, and is there downtime?
Topical numbing goes on first, and the Volume carton stocked here is the version formulated with lidocaine, so the injection itself is usually described as pressure. Swelling, redness or a small bruise for a day or two is ordinary. Most people go back to their plans the same day, holding off on saunas and alcohol for a few days.
Can Belotero be dissolved or adjusted?
Yes. As a hyaluronic acid filler, Belotero can be dissolved with a hyaluronidase enzyme injection to reduce, adjust or remove it. If a long time has passed, more than one session may be needed; an in-person consultation comes first.
Belotero, Restylane or Juvederm — which one for my area?
They are built for different jobs. Belotero blends into thin skin and fine lines; Restylane holds a defined edge where you want a border to stay put; Juvederm's cohesive gels give soft volume across a broader area. All three are on Dear's list at ₩300,000, ₩350,000 and ₩400,000 per cc, and the area you are treating decides which one is drawn up.
Can Belotero leave a bluish tint under the skin?
A cohesive HA placed too shallow can scatter light and read as a faint bluish-grey line, known as the Tyndall effect. It is a placement problem, which is why the plane is settled before the syringe is opened. If it does appear, hyaluronidase dissolves the gel and the colour goes with it.
Can I have Belotero on the same day as the consultation?
Usually. The EVE Muse scan and the director consultation take about thirty minutes between them, and if the plane and the line are agreed, the injection can follow the same afternoon. The carton is opened only after you have approved the plan. Dear Clinic is open 365 days a year, weekends and public holidays included.
Do international visitors pay more, and how do I book?
The published list is the same for everyone: ₩300,000 per cc of Belotero whether you live in Seoul or fly in. KRW is what you pay and USD is shown for reference only. Send the form below with your travel dates and we reply in English within one business day, holding the slot without a deposit.
