About

What is shoulder filler?

Shoulder filler uses hyaluronic acid (HA) — a water-binding gel — to refine the shoulder line, softening a bony, sloped or "coat-hanger" shape into a rounded, straighter contour. On a body area this wide, the plane the gel is laid in governs the result more than the quantity: safe injection depth and the workable dose range both change across the surface, so Dear Clinic runs a strict "minimum unit dose per zone" principle, one zone at a time.

Because the shoulder is broad and its tissue sits deep, product placed at the wrong layer looks lumpy or uneven. A refined result depends on reading the width, slope, muscle line and the neck–trapezius junction, then distributing HA across the correct Deep, Mid and Superficial layers to 0.1 cc precision. The plane decides whether the finished line reads as your own frame or as padding under a fitted top.

Shoulder Types We Design

One shoulder line, many starting shapes

The body analysis sorts what people all call "drooping shoulders" into six distinct starting shapes. The four groups below are how those six are actually treated, and your own is settled at the EVE 3D diagnosis.

01

The sloped, dropped shoulder

A line that falls away from the neck and reads tired is raised visually with layered volume along the upper shoulder band.

02

A narrow frame above the collarbone

A slight build is widened only as far as the neck and collarbone will carry, so the silhouette balances without reading as shoulder pads.

03

Coat-hanger bulk and forward-rolled shoulders

Two of the six shapes sit here: a heavy trapezius with a dropped line, and a shoulder rolled forward by posture. Both are moved toward a straighter contour, and both are checked for muscle bulk before any gel is drawn up.

04

Sharp collarbone ends, uneven sides

A collarbone end that protrudes sharply, and a measurable left–right height difference, are the remaining two shapes. Each side is dosed on its own numbers.

The Dear Signature Technique

How Dear builds a shoulder line

A shoulder is a slope, a hollow above the collarbone and a muscle line, and all three move when you do. The four Dear stages below run from reading your frame at rest to checking the finished contour with the arm raised and lowered.

STEP 01

Dear Shape — reading the shoulder frame

The slope running from neck to shoulder cap, the depth of the supraclavicular hollow above the collarbone, the bulk carried by the trapezius and the point where shoulder turns into upper arm are each read separately. Two people who both describe "drooping shoulders" rarely need the same map: one is carrying muscle, the other is missing volume above the collarbone.

STEP 02

Dear LayerFill — trapezius to deltoid, level by level

Tissue thickness over the shoulder changes sharply across a short span, so volume is separated by depth and laid down plane by plane instead of deposited in one pocket. That discipline is what keeps a treated shoulder from reading as a pad beneath the skin the moment you wear something fitted.

STEP 03

Dear BalanceControl — levelling one side against the other

Almost nobody is symmetrical here. A dominant arm, the side you habitually hang a bag on and everyday posture leave one shoulder sitting higher or squarer than its partner, so the two sides are dosed differently on purpose — and the match is judged with you sitting upright, not lying flat on the bed.

STEP 04

Dear LineFit — the neck-to-collarbone finish

The closing stage joins neck, trapezius, shoulder cap and collarbone into one unbroken sweep and then checks it head-on, from behind and in profile. This is the step that decides whether an off-shoulder neckline or a fitted dress sits the way you pictured it.

Shoulder tissue is thicker and far less forgiving than facial tissue, so the gel is chosen zone by zone on particle structure and elasticity, then delivered under real-time ultrasound guidance. The injection itself runs about 15 to 30 minutes, and the finished line is reviewed with you roughly 20 minutes later, sitting upright.

Dear, Knowhow

Why a shoulder line is built at Dear

01 — THE FULL ARSENAL

The shoulder cases we turn down

Body filler, boosters and contouring devices all sit on our own menu, so over-filling a shoulder earns this clinic nothing. If a smaller volume will do the job, if the bulk on your line is trapezius muscle, or if filler is simply the wrong instrument for your frame, we do not recommend it, and you hear that at the diagnosis while the tray is still closed.

02 — DIAGNOSIS FIRST

Slope and height gap, in numbers

An EVE Muse 3D capture with five light sources turns your shoulders into measurements. Slope, width, and the real height gap between left and right. The injection map is drawn onto that record, and you look at it before a single cc is agreed.

03 — DIRECTOR-PERFORMED

One pair of hands across a wide, blind field

Broad body areas punish heavy-handed injection, and the shoulder carries nerve and vessel structures that give away nothing at the surface, which is why every shoulder here is mapped on the scan, injected under real-time ultrasound guidance and performed by your director, never delegated. The subcutaneous fat layer is written into that map, and each 0.1 cc is committed on purpose, so nothing is topped up by feel at the end of the session.

How much does shoulder filler
cost in Seoul?

At Dear Clinic in Cheongdam the shoulder is billed at the specialty-area rate of ₩500,000 (≈ $355) per 1 cc, and that one rate covers whichever premium HA brand the director selects for you. A shoulder is far larger than any facial zone, which is why it is billed by cc: gently widening a narrow frame and re-shaping a pronounced slope are different amounts of work, and neither can be guessed at before the body analysis and 3D diagnosis. Your exact volume and full quote are settled with you at consultation, and the published rate is identical for Korean and international patients.

Published rate as of September 2026; KRW is the amount charged and USD is reference only. Shoulder volumes are individual and the two sides are rarely dosed the same, so the figure is quoted after the diagnosis and never promised before it. You sign off the brand and the final cc yourself, and nothing is introduced on the day that was not on that plan.

Caution

After shoulder filler: what the first week asks

A full, slightly tight sensation across the top of the shoulder for a day or two is expected while the gel takes up water; it eases as the volume beds into its layers.
Straps are the thing to manage — shoulder bags, backpacks, camera slings and anything that digs into the treated band are best kept off it for a short recovery window.
Sleep off the treated side where you can, and postpone deep-tissue massage, foam rolling or anyone leaning on your trapezius.
Hold off on saunas, alcohol, very hot rooms and heavy overhead or pressing work in the gym for a few days; ordinary walking and desk work are fine from the same day.
Pain that escalates rather than fades, blanching, or skin that stays dusky means telephoning the clinic the same day; hyaluronidase is kept here for placements that have to be undone.
A firm lump still there at the review, spreading redness or warmth over the band, or a fever are separate matters and need an in-person look the same day.

FAQ

Shoulder filler, answered

Is shoulder filler worth it?
For a sloped, narrow or coat-hanger line, hyaluronic acid is the most direct non-surgical way to change the shape, and the new line is visible on the same day. It is poor value in two specific situations: when the bulk sitting on your shoulder is trapezius muscle, and when the height difference between your two sides is postural. The body analysis separates those before you commit to anything.
How much does shoulder filler cost in Seoul?
At Dear Clinic the shoulder is billed at the specialty-area rate of ₩500,000 (≈ $355) per 1 cc, whichever premium HA gel the director selects. Because the shoulder is a broad zone, the total volume — and therefore your full quote — is planned from the body analysis and 3D diagnosis and approved by you before treatment.
How much filler does a shoulder need?
It varies with your starting shape, your frame and the line you are after. The shoulder is wide and deep, so the plan is built on a minimum-unit-dose-per-zone principle: the map carries a cc figure zone by zone, and the two sides rarely carry the same one. Your total is designed from the diagnosis and approved before the tray is prepared.
What is a "straight shoulder line", and can filler create one?
A "straight shoulder" describes a level, softly rounded run from neck to shoulder cap to collarbone. Filler can raise the parts of that run where the line dips, using layered volume placed at the depth each zone allows, and the four Dear stages exist to keep the finish continuous from the front, the side and behind.
Will it look lumpy or padded?
Lumps come from product deposited in one pocket instead of separated by depth. Thin and thicker tissue layers are treated as different targets here and volume is laid down plane by plane under real-time ultrasound guidance, so no single site is asked to carry the correction on its own.
How long does shoulder filler last?
Hyaluronic acid is broken down by your own body, and how long a shoulder holds its shape depends on the gel used, the volume placed, your metabolism and how much load the area takes from bags and training. Your director gives you an expected review date at the consultation instead of a fixed number of months, and the line can be refined or topped up at that review.
Does shoulder filler hurt, and can I still use my arm?
Topical numbing is applied first and lidocaine is included in the gels used for body work, so what patients describe is pressure and a spreading sensation more than sharp pain. Afterwards the shoulder feels full and slightly tight for a day or two, and a small bruise where the cannula entered is common. Ordinary arm movement is fine straight away; loaded overhead work, heavy straps and deep massage are what wait.
Can shoulder filler be dissolved or adjusted?
Yes. The gel is hyaluronic acid, so a hyaluronidase enzyme injection can reduce, adjust or remove it, and that enzyme is kept in the clinic. Where a large volume has been in place for a long time, more than one session may be needed, and we would want to examine the shoulder in person before planning it.
Can you correct asymmetry between my shoulders?
Often, yes — matching height, slope and the trapezius line across the two sides is the whole point of the Dear BalanceControl stage, and the sides are deliberately dosed differently. What filler cannot do is move the skeleton underneath, so the diagnosis states how many millimetres of your difference are realistically reachable with gel.
Can shoulder filler be done on the day I am diagnosed?
Usually yes. The body analysis and director consultation take about 30 minutes, and once the map and the volume are agreed the injection follows in the same visit and runs 15 to 30 minutes. The result is reviewed with you roughly 20 minutes later, while you are still sitting upright. Worth knowing if Seoul is a short stop, since we open 365 days a year, weekends and public holidays included.
Do men get shoulder filler too?
Yes, and the brief changes with it: male requests are usually to widen a narrow frame or flatten a sloped line toward a squarer silhouette, which tends to put more of the volume out toward the shoulder cap. The gel, the depth and the cc per zone are read from your own body analysis either way.
Do international patients pay a different rate, and how is booking handled?
No — the published KRW rate is the one Korean patients pay, and the USD column exists only so you can orient yourself. Send the form below with your travel dates and, if it helps, the neckline or outfit you have in mind; that tells us how much design time to set aside. We answer in English within one business day and hold the appointment without a deposit.

Scientific Evidence

Science behind shoulder contouring with HA — peer-reviewed references

A shoulder is contoured with the same class of material as a face, but the questions that decide the outcome change with the field: which gel keeps its shape in thick, constantly moving tissue, how deep it may sit safely, and what is done if it ends up where it should not. The papers below address precisely those points, and they are what your director weighs when settling brand, depth and volume after the EVE 3D + AI diagnosis.

Each reference resolves to a verifiable DOI in an indexed journal. They are written around facial injection because that is where the published literature actually sits — the rheology, vascular-safety and hyaluronidase findings are the parts that carry across to a broad body zone, and we cite them on that basis rather than implying shoulder-specific trials exist.
