Ultherapy vs Shurink in Korea

Ultherapy vs Shurink

Two HIFU systems from the same technology family. One shows the operator the layers it is treating and is planned in 100-shot units; the other is sold in 300-shot sessions at roughly an eighth of the price per shot.

The Short Answer

Two classes of HIFU, one mechanism

Ultherapy Prime (Merz Aesthetics) and Shurink Universe (Classys) are both HIFU — high-intensity focused ultrasound that drops heat into the deeper layers so collagen contracts and rebuilds. The mechanism is shared. What is not shared is sight: Ultherapy Prime carries DeepSEE real-time imaging that shows the operator your layers to 8 mm while the shots are being placed, where the earlier generation of the device stopped at 4.5 mm. Shurink Universe places its shots without that view, in blocks of 300.

Both reach the same support layers, so the decision is arithmetic before it is anything else. A Shurink Universe shot costs about an eighth of an Ultherapy Prime shot, and an Ultherapy Prime shot buys placement the doctor can see. Where your skin is thick, or the tissue is hard to read, that view changes where the energy lands. Where laxity is early and even, it changes very little. Your EVE Muse 3D + AI diagnosis produces the thickness reading that settles which of those two sentences describes your face.

Case by Case

Which case suits which one

Two questions settle it: how much placement precision your skin needs, and how often you intend to come back.

LEANS ULTHERAPY

Precision & thicker skin

Thick skin, a heavy lower face, or tissue the scan reads as uneven. These are the cases where seeing to 8 mm while treating changes where a shot goes, and where the extra cost per shot buys something measurable.

LEANS SHURINK

Upkeep & accessibility

Early, even laxity in skin of ordinary thickness. A 300-shot session at ₩150,000 covers a lower face, and at that price coming back twice a year is a decision most people can actually keep.

A SENSIBLE MIX

Premium anchor, regular upkeep

One Prime session a year as the anchor, Shurink sessions between them. The anchor buys placement; the upkeep buys frequency.

Pacing the Two

How they can work together

Ultherapy Prime and Shurink Universe are two points on one spectrum of precision and price, so they pace well together. One imaging-guided Prime session a year with lighter Shurink sessions in between holds a result more evenly than a single large session and a two-year gap. The collagen response to focused ultrasound builds over months and then fades, and a session placed while the previous one is still working meets it on the way down.

Dear, Knowhow

Which HIFU goes on the plan

Both consoles stand in the same corridor and both sit on the same published list, so writing the 300-shot session onto your plan instead of the 100-shot block is a matter of what the scan showed.

01 — SHOTS AND COST

Shots, and what they cost

Ultherapy Prime is bought in blocks of 100 shots at ₩400,000. Shurink Universe is bought in sessions of 300 at ₩150,000. Per shot that is a factor of about eight, which is why the count on your plan is settled before the class is.

02 — WHAT THE IMAGING CHANGES

When imaging changes the shot map

On thick or uneven tissue, seeing the layers to 8 mm moves individual shots off the standard grid and away from bone and nerve. On even, moderately thick skin the grid and the view agree, and the imaging earns you less. Your director will say which of the two your scan looks like.

03 — CERTIFICATION

Merz certification, genuine transducer

Dear Clinic holds Merz certification for Ultherapy under Dr. Jemin Kim and Dr. Seonhaeng Lee and displays the genuine-device plaque; Shurink Universe runs under the same directors. Both are performed by our directors from first shot to last, because the shot map is the treatment.

Pricing

How much do Ultherapy and Shurink
cost in Seoul?

At Dear Clinic in Cheongdam, Ultherapy Prime is ₩400,000 (≈ $285) per block of 100 shots, and Shurink Universe is ₩150,000 (≈ $105) for a 300-shot session. Read that per shot and the distance is roughly eightfold, which is the real shape of the choice on this page. One published list covers every patient who walks in.

FAQ

Ultherapy vs Shurink, answered

What separates Ultherapy Prime from Shurink Universe?
Sight and unit. Both are focused ultrasound aimed at the deep support layers, but Ultherapy Prime carries DeepSEE real-time imaging that shows the operator your layers to 8 mm while treating, and it is bought in blocks of 100 shots. Shurink Universe places its shots without that view and is bought in sessions of 300. The mechanism is the same; what differs is how precisely each shot can be aimed and what it costs.
How far apart are they on price per shot?
Ultherapy Prime is ₩400,000 for 100 shots and Shurink Universe is ₩150,000 for 300, which works out at roughly eight times as much per shot for Prime. That factor is the centre of this comparison, and it is why the shot count on your plan gets settled before the brand does.
Is Shurink a cheaper, lower-grade copy of Ultherapy?
No. Shurink Universe is a genuine HIFU system from Classys and delivers real focused ultrasound to the deep layers. It is more accessible per session and works without live imaging, which is exactly what makes it practical for upkeep or a first session. What Ultherapy Prime adds is the view, and the view is worth paying for on some faces and not on others.
When does the DeepSEE imaging actually change anything?
On thick skin and on tissue the scan reads as uneven. Seeing to 8 mm lets your director move individual shots off the standard grid, away from bone and nerve and into the layer that is actually slack. On even, moderately thick skin the grid and the view largely agree, and the imaging earns you less than the price difference suggests.
How many shots will my face need?
It follows the area and the laxity map. A lower face and jawline is the usual size of a 300-shot Shurink session, while Prime plans are assembled in 100-shot blocks so the count can be matched to the area instead of rounded up to a package. The number is fixed on the plan before you agree to it.
Can I have one of each in the same year?
Yes, and it is a sensible rhythm for many faces: one imaging-guided Prime session as the anchor, Shurink sessions between anchors. The collagen response to focused ultrasound builds over months and then fades, so a lighter session placed while the previous one is still working meets it on the way down. Both consoles are here, so the intervals are planned once.
What does a HIFU session feel like, and what can go wrong?
Each shot is a brief deep heat with a prickle behind it, eased by topical numbing before the session. Afterwards expect redness and small raised lines that settle within hours, and a deep ache on chewing for a few days. The risks worth naming are bruising, a patch of numbness, and rarely a temporary weakness in the smile where a shot lands near a nerve branch — all reasons the shot map is drawn by a doctor.
When would you turn a HIFU booking down?
Twice. We decline Ultherapy Prime for early laxity in ordinary skin, where the imaging has nothing to correct and the block would be sold on reputation. And we decline both classes for a thin, depleted face, because focused ultrasound on skin already short of volume can leave it looking hollower — there we quote a booster or a filler instead.
Is the Ultherapy device at Dear Clinic the genuine one?
Yes. Dear Clinic holds Merz certification for Ultherapy under Dr. Jemin Kim and Dr. Seonhaeng Lee and displays the genuine-device plaque, photographed on this page. Shurink Universe runs under the same directors. With focused ultrasound the transducer determines the depth the energy lands at, so a genuine, certified one is not an optional extra.
How soon will I see something, and how long does it hold?
Both classes give a small immediate tightening from the heat itself, and the real change arrives over the following weeks and months as collagen rebuilds. How long that holds moves with your age, your skin and how many shots were placed, so it is reviewed at follow-up instead of promised in advance. Shurink's price makes a shorter interval realistic; Prime is more often planned once.
Can a HIFU session run on the day I consult?
Usually. The EVE Muse scan and the doctor consultation take about half an hour, and if the shot map is agreed the session follows straight away. Dear Clinic sees patients 365 days a year, weekends and public holidays included, which is what makes a single-trip visit workable for visitors.
Do visiting patients pay the shot prices shown here?
Yes. One published list applies to everyone, and the per-block and per-session figures above are the ones quoted at the desk. The class, the shot count and the total are written on the plan you approve before the first shot.
