Coolwaves™ microwaves run at 2.45 GHz and are absorbed by water-rich subcutaneous tissue. The heat therefore gathers a layer below where radiofrequency does most of its work.
Heating that layer works on localized fullness and on the looseness of the skin above it during the same pass, which is what makes the outline read cleaner afterwards. One applicator, one target depth, two problems.
A cooled applicator holds the skin surface down while the energy works underneath. Most areas stay tolerable, and most people walk out with nothing to hide.
Onda answers one question well: what to do about a soft pocket of fat with slack skin sitting over it. A lean, descending face gives it nothing. That case is a focused-ultrasound, radiofrequency or thread plan, and all three of those sit in the same building on the same published list, which is why the answer can change on the day without changing your bill.
Coolwaves are absorbed by water, so the whole plan hinges on how deep and how full that layer actually is on you. Published rate as of September 2026. The kilojoule plan and the total are settled with you first, and nothing is added once the applicator is on. Onda does not replace radiofrequency or focused ultrasound. It is chosen when the scan finds a water-rich pocket of fat with loose skin above it, and one of the other machines is chosen when it does not.
Onda earns its place where there is fullness to heat. A lean face that is simply descending gives the microwaves nothing to grip, so we do not recommend a course of sessions for it and put a focused-ultrasound or radiofrequency plan in front of you instead. Where the real issue is body weight or a large volume of tissue, no energy device answers it; the assessment says so and books nothing that day.
