How long do jawline botox results last? The duration answer from Cheongdam, Gangnam, Seoul

Temporarily, in every case, and for a span this page will not print as a promise. Two separate clocks run after a masseter injection — one for the nerve signal and one for the muscle bulk — and your director sets your expectation from your own examination. Listed from ₩40,000 per session.

The Short Answer

Why no month figure for jawline toxin is printed on this page

Masseter treatment is reversible by design. Signal reaches the muscle again, the muscle regains its strength, and bulk returns under the same chewing and clenching load that built it. How much calendar sits between those events is individual, and a clinic that prints a span on a web page is quoting somebody else's jaw. Yours is estimated at your examination and revised against photographs at the review.

There is a commercial reason pages usually print a number anyway, and a clinical reason we would rather not. The number people repeat is an average drawn from study populations with particular doses, particular products and particular muscles. Put next to a specific person it carries almost no predictive weight, and it sets up a disappointment when a jaw behaves differently. What can be said with confidence is the shape of the curve, which is the subject of the rest of this page.

The mechanism by which the injection narrows a lower face, who it suits and what it cannot change are covered on the jawline mechanism page, and the protocol, dosing approach and aftercare sit on the square jaw treatment page. This one is about the far end of the timeline: what wears off first, what holds longest, and what you can actually influence.

Two Clocks

Muscle atrophy and re-bulking run on different schedules after a masseter dose

Most confusion about duration comes from treating one timeline as if it were two.

CLOCK 01

The signal to the chewing muscle

Botulinum toxin type A interrupts the chemical message crossing from nerve to muscle fibre, and that interruption is temporary. Transmission is re-established as the nerve endings recover, which happens gradually and not on a single day. The first thing you feel returning is biting power.

CLOCK 02

The bulk that made the jaw wide

Narrowing came from a muscle losing volume while it worked with less force, which is ordinary disuse atrophy. Rebuilding that volume needs the muscle to be loaded hard again, repeatedly, over weeks. So the outline usually holds for a stretch after strength has already come back.

WHAT IT MEANS

Strength returns before width does

Feeling able to chew tough food again is not the end of your result, and many patients read it that way and book too early. The question at a review is what the outline is doing, measured against the photographs, and your director will often say there is nothing to add yet.

A third thing follows from the two clocks. Because the width came off slowly, it comes back slowly, and it comes back in proportion to how hard the muscle is worked afterwards. A jaw put straight back under a heavy clenching load recovers its bulk faster than one that is not, which is the single most useful thing anybody can tell you about making a masseter result last.

What You Can Influence

What stretches a masseter result out and what cuts it short

Half of this list was decided before you came in and half of it is in your hands after you leave. None of it produces a figure in months; it produces a direction, and directions are what a plan can actually be built on.
FactorWhich way it pushesWhy it works that way
Night grindingCuts it shortThe load that built the muscle carries on through the treatment and resumes at full force the moment strength returns. Dental advice on a guard sits alongside the injection for this reason.
Daytime clenchingCuts it shortA jaw held tight through a stressful stretch of work is training the muscle several hours a day. It is also the habit patients are least aware of until somebody asks.
A very chewy dietCuts it shortHard, dense and gum-like food is resistance training for the masseter. Nobody sensible changes their diet for a jawline, but it explains differences between two people given the same plan.
Starting muscle strengthBoth waysA thick, powerful masseter has more to lose and more to rebuild. It can hold a change well once the change is made, and it also pushes back harder afterwards.
Dose matched to the muscleStretches it outUnder-dosing a strong muscle produces a change that fades early. Matching the map to what was felt and imaged on the day is what the first appointment is for.
Keeping the reviewStretches it outA first dose here is deliberately conservative, so the review is where the plan is completed. Skipping it usually means living with a partial result and calling it a short one.
Your own metabolismBoth waysHow quickly an individual clears the effect varies, and it is not something anybody can measure in advance. It is part of why two people with identical plans report different experiences.

If you wake with a tight jaw, a headache at the temples or a dental guard on your bedside table, say so at the consultation. Grinding is the factor with the biggest influence on how long your outline holds, and it is the one most often left out of the conversation because patients assume it belongs to a dentist.

Maintenance

How a repeat masseter visit is timed without a date in the diary

Retreatment here follows an examination, so the trigger is what your jaw is doing and never a reminder that arrived on a schedule
Photograph yourself from the front in the same light every few weeks, because an outline widening by degrees is invisible to somebody looking in a mirror daily
Treat returning bite strength as information and not as a deadline, since the width is the thing being tracked
Expect your director to decline a top-up that arrives too soon, because repeated dosing before a muscle has recovered is how a lower face ends up over-reduced
Bring your grinding up again at each visit, as a habit that changed since the last appointment changes what the next plan should be

Sessions are priced one at a time, so nothing about maintenance is pre-sold. Whether to treat again is a decision taken when the outline says so, and deciding against it is a normal outcome: a masseter left alone simply returns to the strength and the width it had before.

Listed Rates

What a repeat jawline session is listed at in Cheongdam

Square jaw treatment is published at ₩40,000 (≈ $30) per session on the Korean tier and ₩350,000 (≈ $250) on the imported one. Both figures cover the chewing muscle on both sides in one sitting, both apply to a first visit and to a maintenance visit alike, and neither is part of a course you have to commit to.
TierWhat one session coversPer session
KoreanA domestically manufactured botulinum toxin type A, mapped across both masseters at one appointment₩40,000 (≈ $30)
ImportedAn imported premium-tier type A product, the same mapping and the same appointment, where a patient prefers it₩350,000 (≈ $250)

Korean pharmaceutical advertising rules keep prescription toxin product names off public pages, which is why tiers appear here in place of manufacturers; your director names the product and shows you the vial before it is drawn. Neither tier carries a published duration claim at this clinic, and choosing between them is a conversation at the consultation. Visitors and residents pay the same. Every other published figure sits on the price list, with the wider picture on the botox price page.

Limits And Risks

When a longer-lasting jawline is the wrong thing to chase

Three requests get a no here, and all three are attempts to buy duration. We do not recommend a larger first dose on the grounds that it should hold longer, because a masseter reduced further than a face can carry takes support away from the lower cheek and the correction for that is waiting. We decline a top-up brought forward because strength has returned while the outline has not moved, since dosing into a muscle that has not recovered is the reliable route to over-reduction. And where the reading says the width was bone, fat or glandular in the first place, no amount of repetition will make a masseter injection last, because it was never the tissue doing the work.

The risks stay the same at a fifth appointment as at a first. Bruising at an entry point and brief swelling are the ordinary minor ones. An uneven map leaves the two sides softening at different rates, which is the most common thing a review evens up. Product placed too superficially over the angle can dimple the skin above it, and a point straying toward the muscles of the mouth can alter a smile for several weeks until it wears off. Results vary between individuals and are assessed on your own examination.

Tell your director about a neuromuscular condition, about blood-thinning medication or supplements, and about pregnancy or breastfeeding, since any of those changes what is offered to you. If you have had a masseter treated before, bring what you know: roughly when, roughly how much, and what you noticed as it wore off is more useful to a duration conversation than anything else you can carry in.

Dear, Knowhow

How the duration question is handled at Dear

01 — PER SESSION, NO PACKAGE

Nothing is pre-sold against a future jaw

Each appointment is settled on the day, so a maintenance plan is a decision you keep making.

02 — DIAGNOSIS FIRST

EVE Muse 3D + AI tracks the outline between visits

Three-dimensional imaging under five light sources with AI analysis records the lower face from angles a mirror cannot offer, and the capture from your first visit is what the next one is compared against. Measuring an outline is how a return visit is timed here, in place of counting weeks since the last injection.

03 — DIRECTOR-PERFORMED

The same hands feel the muscle each time

Your director palpates the angle while you clench, compares both sides, and the injections are performed by your director as well. Feeling how much strength has genuinely come back is part of deciding whether a repeat is due, and it is not something a receptionist's calendar can do for you.

FAQ

Jawline toxin duration, question by question

How long do jawline botox results last?
Long enough to be worth doing and short enough that it is always temporary. The signal returns to the muscle, strength comes back with it, and the width rebuilds under whatever load you put the jaw under afterwards. Your own span depends on the dose, on how powerful that muscle was, on your metabolism and on your grinding and clenching habits, and your director gives you the expected pattern for your plan at consultation instead of a figure printed here.
Why will you not just tell me a number of months?
Because a number on a web page is an average taken from other people's muscles, other doses and other products, and it predicts very little about one specific jaw. We prefer to describe what governs it and then give you an expectation drawn from your own examination, which is a figure you can actually plan around and which gets revised at the review.
Does the effect stop suddenly, or fade away?
It fades. Transmission between nerve and muscle is re-established gradually, so biting power creeps back over a stretch instead of switching on one morning. The visible outline moves later still, because width only returns as the muscle is loaded and rebuilds. Nobody wakes up with the jaw they started with.
Will my jawline go back exactly as it was before?
Assume so, and treat anything else as a bonus. A masseter left untreated returns to the strength and the bulk that your habits support, and that is the same jaw you brought in. Some patients feel a later course holds differently from the first; that is an impression from their own review and not something this clinic promises to anybody in advance.
Does grinding my teeth at night shorten how long it lasts?
It is the single biggest thing you can influence. Grinding is resistance training for the same muscle the injection is softening, so the load that built the bulk is still running while the treatment wears off, and it rebuilds faster afterwards. Mention it at the consultation, because dental advice on a night guard sits alongside this treatment and changes what the plan should look like.
Does a bigger dose make the result last longer?
Not in a way worth buying. Matching the dose to the strength of the muscle is what stops a change fading early; pushing past that point reduces the masseter further than the face can carry, takes support away from the lower cheek and cannot be corrected except by waiting. First dosing here is deliberately conservative and completed at the review for exactly that reason.
Does the imported tier last longer than the Korean one?
This clinic publishes no duration claim for either tier. They are different products at different published rates, and which of them suits you is a conversation with your director at the consultation, where the difference is explained and the vial is shown to you before it is drawn. The mapping and the sitting are the same on both lines.
When should I book my next session?
When the outline starts to widen, which is a question answered by comparing photographs and by your director feeling the muscle, and not by a date. Returning bite strength usually arrives earlier and is information rather than a cue to book. A top-up asked for too soon is likely to be declined, because dosing a muscle that has not recovered is how a lower face ends up over-reduced.
How much is a maintenance session?
The same as a first one: ₩40,000 (≈ $30) per session on the Korean tier and ₩350,000 (≈ $250) on the imported tier, both covering the muscle on both sides. Nothing is pre-sold as a course, so a repeat visit is a fresh decision with a fresh figure, and stopping after one session leaves nothing owed.
What happens if I stop treating altogether?
The muscle recovers its strength and, under the same chewing and clenching load, its bulk. Nothing deteriorates beyond the point you started from and there is no rebound to a worse place. Stopping is a legitimate outcome and it is discussed openly at a review, particularly where the original width turned out to be partly bone or fat.
Can I have a repeat on the day I come in, and when are you open?
Often yes, once the muscle has been examined, both sides compared and the figure approved by you, and Dear Clinic is open 365 days a year including Sundays and public holidays. Where the examination says the outline has not moved enough to justify it, we do not recommend the injection that day and you are shown the comparison the decision rests on.

Three references cover the clinical use of botulinum toxin type A in aesthetic medicine: the first published report of treating expression lines with it, an international consensus education initiative on its aesthetic application, and a laboratory account of how the licensed type A products differ from one another.

None of them is a study of how long one person's jaw holds a change, and none of them is cited here as the source of a duration figure, because this page publishes none. They are listed for the mechanism and the product science that sit behind the answer.
