Forehead Botox in Cheongdam, Gangnam, Seoul

The horizontal lines across a forehead are made by the single muscle that also holds your brow up. Softening one softens the other, so the dose is a judgement about brow height as much as about lines. Priced as a wrinkle area from ₩30,000.

The Anatomy

What the frontalis actually does above your eyebrows

The forehead is covered by one broad, flat sheet of muscle, the frontalis, running from the scalp down into the eyebrows. It has exactly one direction of pull: upward. Every horizontal line across a forehead is skin folding as that sheet raises the brow, and every raised brow is the same sheet doing the same thing. Treating the lines and lowering the lift are therefore a single action with two consequences.

Nothing else on the face pulls the eyebrow upward. Several muscles pull it down — the ones that knit your brows together and the ring of muscle around each eye — but only the frontalis raises it. When botulinum toxin type A reduces the signal reaching that sheet, the downward pullers carry on unopposed at whatever strength they had before. Where the brow settles afterwards is decided by that balance, which is why it is read on your own face before any dose is written.

Two kinds of line live on a forehead, and they behave differently. A dynamic line appears when you raise your brows and vanishes when your face rests; it responds well because the folding is what creates it. A static line stays visible while your forehead is completely still, because the skin has been creased in the same place for years and the crease has taken on a life outside the muscle. Softening the movement stops a static line deepening further and usually shallows it over time, and it rarely erases one.

The full picture of expression-line work across the face, including which zones count as separate treated areas, sits on the wrinkle botox page. This page is the forehead on its own, because the forehead is the one zone where the treatment has a second consequence built into its anatomy.

The Trade-Off

Why a heavy forehead dose can drop the eyebrow

A forehead treated harder than its owner's brow can afford looks smooth in a mirror and heavy in a photograph.

WHAT HAPPENS

Lift comes out with the lines

Reduce the sheet's contraction enough and the brow loses the small amount of elevation it was holding all day. On a face with plenty of room between brow and lid, nobody notices. On a face with little, the upper lid starts to feel like it is resting on the lashes.

WHO FEELS IT

Low brows and hooded upper lids

A brow that already sits close to the orbital rim, or an upper lid with a fold of skin sitting on it, has no margin to give away. The same is true for anyone who has been unconsciously recruiting the forehead to hold the brows up, which is common and which shows up the moment the recruitment is taken away.

HOW IT IS MANAGED

Low first dose, then a review

The lower part of the sheet, the band closest to the brow, is treated with the most restraint or left alone, and the first plan is deliberately light. Adding at a review is straightforward. Waiting out a brow that has been over-treated is not, and it is the reason a first forehead plan here is rarely the strongest one available.

There is a second pattern worth naming. Treating the middle of the sheet while leaving its outer edges working can pull the outer ends of the brows up into peaks, an effect patients describe as arched or startled. It comes from an uneven map instead of from too much product, it is temporary, and it is usually settled at the review by treating the peaks that were left behind.

The Neighbouring Zone

Why the frown lines between your brows belong in a forehead plan

The glabella — the small group of muscles that draws the brows together and downward when you concentrate — works against the frontalis all day. Treating the forehead alone removes one side of that tug of war and leaves the other side intact. Assessing both together is the difference between a smooth forehead with a heavy brow and a smooth forehead that still looks open.

Your director takes photographs at rest, at a full brow raise and at a hard frown before any of this is decided, because a forehead at rest tells you almost nothing about how hard it is working. Where the reading shows the lines are static creases in thin, sun-damaged skin with very little movement behind them, toxin is the wrong tool and you are told so; the conversation moves to treatments that act on the skin itself, and the skin booster and laser routes are where it usually goes.

Who Is Turned Away

When we do not recommend treating a forehead with toxin

Four readings end a forehead consultation without an injection. A brow already sitting low on the orbital rim, where the treatment would buy smoothness at the cost of an eye that looks smaller. An upper lid carrying a fold of skin that the forehead is quietly helping to hold clear, which is common past a certain age and is read by asking you to close your eyes and relax completely. Lines that stay identical whether your forehead is still or working, which are creases in skin and not folds made by a muscle. And a face where the frontalis is doing structural work — occasionally somebody is using it to keep the visual field clear, and taking it away is not a cosmetic decision at all.

The risks belong in the same conversation. A dropped brow or a heavy upper lid can follow a forehead dose and is the risk patients most want to hear about; it wears off, but it wears off on the product's schedule and not on yours. Asymmetry between the two halves of the sheet is the most common thing a review corrects. Bruising at an entry point, brief swelling and a headache in the first day or two happen. Uneven peaking of the outer brow, described above, is a mapping outcome. Results vary between individuals and are assessed on your own examination.

Tell your director about any neuromuscular condition, about blood-thinning medication or supplements, and about pregnancy or breastfeeding, since any of those changes what is offered to you. If you have had a forehead treated before and disliked how it felt, bring that with you: what was dosed, roughly when, and what specifically bothered you is more useful than any photograph.

Listed Rates

What one forehead area is listed at in Cheongdam

The forehead is priced as a single wrinkle area. The published ladder begins at ₩30,000 (≈ $20) for an area on the Korean tier and runs to ₩150,000 (≈ $105) on the imported one, with intermediate tiers on the price list. The tier is your choice at the consultation; the number of units inside it follows how strong the sheet turns out to be.
TierWhat one forehead area coversPer area
KoreanA domestically manufactured botulinum toxin type A, mapped across the frontalis in one sitting₩30,000 (≈ $20)
ImportedAn imported premium-tier type A product, same mapping and the same sitting, for patients who prefer it₩150,000 (≈ $105)

Korean pharmaceutical advertising rules keep prescription toxin product names off public pages, so what you see here are tiers and not manufacturers; your director names the product and shows you the vial before it is drawn. The glabella is its own area, so a plan covering both zones is quoted as two lines and approved by you as two lines. Rates are identical for residents and for visitors, and every published wrinkle tier sits on the price list, with the wider pricing picture on the botox price page.

The Review Visit

How a forehead plan is finished at the second appointment

Keep your head upright for the first hours and skip the gym that day, so nothing you do moves product away from where it was placed
Leave the area alone: no rubbing, no facial massage and no face-down treatment beds for the rest of the day
Raise your brows in front of a mirror once at the end of the first week, which is the movement that shows what has taken and what has not
Report a heavy lid, a brow that has dropped or two halves behaving differently as soon as you notice it, so it can be examined while it is developing
Come to the review even if you are happy, because a first dose here is written to be added to and the second appointment is where the map is completed

At the review your director compares your brow raise against the photographs taken before treatment, evens up any difference between the two sides and decides whether the band nearest the brow should stay untouched. Aftercare specific to your plan is given to you at the appointment, and with the clinic open 365 days anything that worries you can be looked at quickly.

Dear, Knowhow

How a forehead is read before a single unit is drawn at Dear

01 — THE FULL ARSENAL

Saying the lines are not muscular costs us nothing

Skin treatments and injectables share a floor here, so a static crease can be sent to the tool that actually reaches it.

02 — DIAGNOSIS FIRST

EVE Muse 3D + AI reads the brow before the lines

Three-dimensional imaging under five light sources records the forehead at rest, at a full raise and at a frown, and the AI analysis measures how much the brow actually travels between them. That distance, together with the gap between brow and lid, is what decides whether the lower band of the sheet is treated at all.

03 — DIRECTOR-PERFORMED

Marks drawn while your brows are lifting

The map is drawn on your own face with the muscle engaged, kept well above the orbital rim, and the injections are performed by your director. Units follow the strength that sheet shows on the day, and the map is drawn again at every visit instead of being copied from the last one.

FAQ

Forehead toxin, asked and answered

Will treating my forehead make my eyebrows drop?
It can, and how much depends on where your brow sits to begin with. The only muscle raising the brow is the one being softened, so some loss of lift is built into the treatment. A brow with room above the lid absorbs it invisibly; a brow already sitting low has none to spare. Your director measures that gap before writing a dose, and where the margin is thin the band nearest the brow is left alone.
Why do you treat the frown lines at the same time?
Because the muscles between your brows pull downward all day and the forehead pulls upward against them. Softening only the upward side leaves the downward side unopposed. Where both are assessed together the balance can be planned deliberately, and the forehead often needs less. The glabella is charged as its own area, so this is a decision with a visible cost attached instead of an automatic addition.
How much is one forehead area?
It is priced as a wrinkle area, from ₩30,000 (≈ $20) on the Korean tier up to ₩150,000 (≈ $105) on the imported tier, with the intermediate tiers published on the price list. The figure is the same for visitors and residents, is confirmed with you before anything is drawn, and covers the sitting and never a course.
My forehead lines are visible even when my face is completely still. Will this fix them?
Not on its own. A line that is present at complete rest is a crease in skin, and softening movement stops it deepening and usually shallows it slowly. Erasing it is a skin problem, treated with boosters, resurfacing or a combination, and if that is what your reading shows we say so at the consultation instead of selling you an injection that will disappoint you.
Why did my outer brows arch up after a previous treatment?
That usually comes from a map, not a dose. When the middle of the sheet is softened and the outer edges are left working, those edges keep lifting and the ends of the brows peak. It is temporary and it is corrected by treating the part that was left behind, which is one of the things a review appointment exists for.
Will my forehead look frozen?
That is a dosing outcome and the first plan here is deliberately conservative for exactly that reason. The aim is a forehead that still moves and simply folds less deeply when it does. If your preference is for a very still forehead, say so and your director will tell you plainly whether your brow position can carry it, because the two preferences sometimes conflict on the same face.
How soon will I see a change, and how long will it hold?
Nothing changes on the day. The reduction in movement arrives over the days that follow and the appearance of the lines follows the movement. How long it holds differs with the dose, with how strong that sheet is and with your own metabolism, so your director gives you the expected pattern for your plan at the consultation instead of a fixed number printed on a page.
Does it hurt, and can I go back to work afterwards?
The injections are fine needles into a thin sheet and the sitting is short. Small red marks at the entry points settle within an hour or two, a bruise is possible and occasionally a headache follows in the first day. Ordinary activity resumes straight away; what we ask is that you stay upright for a few hours and skip the gym, the sauna and face-down beds until the next day.
Can I have a forehead treatment while I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. It is not offered in pregnancy or while breastfeeding, and the consultation is the place to say so. The same applies to a neuromuscular condition, which changes what can be offered entirely, and blood-thinning medication or supplements need to be mentioned because they change how easily you bruise.
Do men have forehead treatment here?
Regularly. A male frontalis is usually stronger and the brow sits lower and flatter to begin with, so plans tend to carry more units while being even more careful about the band above the brow. The aim on a male forehead is generally softening more than smoothing, and the same reading and the same published rates apply.
Can I be treated the day I come in, and is the price the same for visitors?
Treatment can follow the consultation in the same visit once the brow has been read and you have approved the figure, and Dear Clinic is open 365 days a year including Sundays and public holidays. Visitors pay exactly what residents pay. Where the reading says your brow cannot carry it, we do not recommend the injection and you are shown the measurement the decision rests on.

Three references cover the clinical use of botulinum toxin type A on expression lines: the first published report of treating frown lines with it, an international consensus education initiative on its aesthetic application, and a laboratory account of how the licensed type A products differ from one another.

They establish the mechanism and the product science. They do not describe your forehead, they set no dose for it and they attach no timeline to it; that comes from the measurement taken at your own examination.
