The Placement

What jawline filler adds along the mandible

Jawline filler is cross-linked hyaluronic acid placed along the bony lower border of the jaw and at the angle behind it, deep against bone where it carries load and lightly nearer the surface where the eye reads the line. It is a contour correction measured in tenths of a cc, performed by your director in one visit.

The jaw people photograph is really two separate things: a border and an angle. The border runs forward from below the ear to the chin, and the angle is the corner where that border turns upward. A face can lose crispness at either one independently. Support placed at the angle widens and squares a lower third seen from the front; support laid along the border straightens the line you see in profile and at three-quarters.

Which of those two a face actually needs is a measurement, so it is taken before a carton is opened. Gel put at the angle of a jaw that has lost its border does nothing for the profile, and the reverse is equally true.

Hyaluronic acid families differ in rheology — how firm the gel is, how far it spreads under pressure and how it behaves when the tissue over it moves. A jaw is loaded every time you chew and speak, so the property list matters more here than in a still area. The firmer, more structured gels sit in the deep plane against bone. A softer gel is kept for the finish, where a visible edge would give the work away.

Four Readings

The four measurements a jawline plan is built from

Your EVE Muse 3D scan, read under five light sources with AI analysis, gives each of these a number before any volume is agreed.

01 — THE ANGLE

The gonial corner, seen from the front

How far the corner of the jaw sits from the midline sets the width of your lower third. Where the scan shows that corner sitting inside the cheekbone width, deep support at the angle is what squares the frame. Where it already sits outside it, adding there widens a face that was not asking to be wider.

02 — THE BORDER

The straight run between angle and chin

Read at three-quarters, this line is either continuous or it dips. A dip immediately in front of the jaw corner is a different problem from a general softening along the whole length, and the two take different volumes in different planes.

03 — THE JUNCTION

Where the chin hands over to the jaw

A jawline design that stops short of the chin leaves a step. Projection at the front of the mandible and definition along its side are measured together, which is why a jaw plan and a chin filler plan are frequently drawn in the same sitting.

04 — The masseter, and what it is doing. Where the scan reads a wide lower face caused by muscle bulk instead of a lost bony line, more gel on the border is the wrong answer and will make the width worse. That finding sends the budget to jaw botulinum toxin, and sometimes to a staged plan where the muscle is addressed first and the contour is reassessed afterwards.
The Dear Filler Technique

Four steps, applied to a jawline

The same four-step sequence used across every hyaluronic acid design here, with what each one means when the target is a mandibular border.

01
Dear Shape

Mark the bone before marking the skin

The lower border is palpated and drawn from the angle forward, and the point where the facial artery crosses that border is marked as a place to stay away from. The shortfall in each segment is written down in tenths of a cc. Nothing is loaded until that map exists on your face.

02
Dear LayerFill

Deep against bone, light near the skin

The structural volume goes supraperiosteally at the angle and along the border, where a firm gel has bone behind it and does the most work per tenth of a cc. Only the finish is laid in the more superficial plane. Splitting the correction this way is what keeps a jaw looking like bone instead of a band of product.

03
Dear BalanceControl

Two sides of a jaw are rarely the same length

Mandibular asymmetry is ordinary, and it shows more after a jawline is sharpened than before. Both borders are compared again after each plane is completed, and gel goes to whichever side the scan says is genuinely behind. That is why a jawline quote almost never divides evenly in two.

04
Dear LineFit

Checked in profile and while you talk

The border is reviewed at three-quarter and full profile, then with the jaw in motion, because a contour that reads well in a still photograph can still print an edge when the face moves. A residual step is smoothed with the lightest gel to hand, and extra volume at this stage would undo the work.

Published Rates

How much do jawline fillers cost in Cheongdam?

The jawline sits on two different lines depending on the gel. With The Chaeum, the house Korean family, it is billed on the standard rate of ₩130,000 (≈ $95) per cc, because the house specialty group covers only the lips and the temple. With an imported gel the jawline is a specialty placement, at ₩500,000 (≈ $355) per cc whichever imported family is opened.

One card for residents and for international patients alike; a passport changes nothing on it. Volume is what moves your total, and the number of cubic centimetres is agreed with you at the diagnosis before any syringe is unwrapped. Every rate the clinic publishes sits together on the transparent price list, and the full hyaluronic acid range by area and by gel is on the dermal fillers page.

Candidacy

The jawlines this works on — and the ones we turn down

A border that has softened while the skin still holds. Where the scan finds a bony line that has lost definition but skin that still snaps back, gel restores an edge that is already half there. This is the reading that responds most predictably.
A shallow angle in a face that is otherwise balanced. Deep support at the gonial corner widens a narrow lower third and gives the profile a corner to turn on.
A step where the chin hands over to the jaw. Treated as one design instead of two separate areas, this is where a modest total volume buys the largest visible change.
Skin laxity, where we do not recommend filler. When the finding under the jaw is loose tissue descending while the bony border itself is intact, volume makes the heaviness worse. That reading sends the conversation to thread lifting or to an energy protocol such as Ultherapy Prime, and the filler is not booked.
Width driven by muscle. A masseter-driven lower face is not the right target for gel along the border, and treating it as though it were produces a wider result. We say so on the day.
Active infection, or an unhealed area at the injection site. Treatment is postponed until the skin is quiet. Where you are on a medication that affects clotting, bring the name of it to the consultation so the plan can account for it.

We do not publish a fixed number of months for a jawline result. Hyaluronic acid is broken down at a rate that varies with the gel's properties, the plane it sits in and the individual carrying it, and a jaw is a mobile area. What you will be given at your consultation is a realistic expectation for the gel that has been chosen for you, together with when a review makes sense.

Anatomy & Risk

The vessels that run under a jawline injection

The facial artery crosses the lower border of the mandible in front of the masseter and then climbs the face, which puts a named vessel directly across the path of a jawline needle. Published facial danger-zone anatomy is the reason placement here is deep, slow and low-pressure, with the crossing point marked before anything is injected.
Ordinary and expected. Bruising at entry points, swelling for the first days, tenderness when you chew. A jaw is used constantly, so firmness in the area while it settles is common.
Uncommon and correctable. A palpable lump, a visible edge, or an asymmetry that becomes obvious once the swelling has gone. These are assessed at a review and, where needed, reduced.
Serious and rare. Gel entering a vessel can obstruct it. The reported consequences of intravascular filler injection include skin blanching and necrosis, and, in cases documented in the ophthalmic literature after facial injection, visual loss. The papers below cover both the anatomy and those reported events.
Reversible chemistry. Everything used on a jawline here is hyaluronic acid, so a result can be reduced or cleared with a hyaluronidase enzyme injection. Gel that has been in place a long time can be firmer and may need more than one session to clear, which is judged in person.
Dear, Knowhow

Why a jawline is designed here before it is injected

01 — THE FULL ARSENAL

Four hyaluronic acid families, plus the tools that are not filler

Toxin, threads and energy platforms are in the same building.

02 — DIAGNOSIS FIRST

EVE Muse 3D reads the jaw, and sometimes reads against gel

Three-dimensional imaging under five light sources with AI analysis puts the angle, the border and the chin junction on screen as measurements. The volume for each segment comes off that map in tenths of a cc. Where the same reading finds descending tissue or masseter bulk instead of a thinned bony line, filler is not what is recommended that day, and the plan changes accordingly.

03 — DIRECTOR-PERFORMED

The hand that marks the artery is the hand that injects

Your director performs the injection. Marking where the facial artery crosses the mandibular border, choosing the plane, and controlling the pressure are one continuous task, and splitting it across two people is how detail gets lost.

FAQ

Jawline fillers in Cheongdam, answered

How much do jawline fillers cost in Cheongdam, Seoul?
It depends on the gel. The Chaeum on a jawline is billed on the standard house line at ₩130,000 (≈ $95) per cc, because the house specialty group covers only the lips and the temple. An imported gel on a jawline is a specialty placement at ₩500,000 (≈ $355) per cc. Your total is that rate multiplied by the volume your design needs, agreed before treatment.
Why is a jawline a specialty area with imported gel but not with the Korean one?
Because the two columns on the card define the specialty group differently. In the house column the group is the lips and the temple only. In the imported column it widens to include the jawline, the marionette lines, wrinkle placement and the under-eye roll. It is a pricing structure, and it is no comment on difficulty; what it means in practice is that the gel you choose changes which line your jaw is quoted on.
How many cc does a jawline usually take?
There is no house default, and any number offered before a scan is a guess. The volume falls out of the EVE Muse 3D reading segment by segment: an angle that needs squaring and a border that has dipped in one place are different quantities. Deep support against bone does more work per tenth of a cc than the same gel spread near the surface, so the plan usually costs less than people expect.
Is jawline filler safe, and what actually goes wrong?
The common events are bruising, swelling and tenderness while the area settles. The serious risk is vascular: the facial artery crosses the lower border of the mandible, and gel entering a vessel can obstruct it, with blanching and skin necrosis reported, and visual loss documented after facial filler injection in the ophthalmic literature. Deep, slow, low-pressure placement in a marked plane is how that risk is managed here.
Can jawline filler be dissolved if I dislike it?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid responds to hyaluronidase, the enzyme used in aesthetic medicine to break it down, so a jawline can be reduced or cleared. It is not an instant switch: older, firmer gel can take more than one session, and the area is reassessed in person before anything is dissolved.
Will it make my face look wider?
It can, and that is precisely the reading that decides where the gel goes. Volume at the gonial angle widens the lower third by design, which suits a narrow frame and works against a face that is already broad there. Where the scan attributes the width to masseter bulk, the recommendation moves to toxin and the border is reassessed later.
Jawline filler or chin filler — which one do I actually need?
Most lower thirds need a share of both, because the border and the front projection set each other off. A chin that sits back makes a well-defined border look short; a border that has softened makes a good chin look isolated. Both are measured at the same scan, and the split between them is written into one plan.
How long does the appointment take, and can I have it the day I arrive?
Scan, consultation and injection generally fit inside a single visit, since the gel families are stocked and the choice comes from your own reading. Expect the visit to run longer than the injection itself, as the marking and the measurement are the slow parts. Dear Clinic is open 365 days a year, so a review can be scheduled inside a short trip.
What should I avoid after a jawline session?
Keep heat, alcohol and hard training away for the first days, since all three increase swelling in an area you are already using to chew and speak. Sleep with your head slightly raised if you can. Firm pressure and facial massage over the border are worth avoiding while the gel integrates, and anything that needs to be done to the area is done at your review instead.
Do international patients pay a different rate for a jawline design?
No. The published card is the same for everyone, and consultation is available in English. What visitors should plan for is timing more than price: swelling along the jaw is most visible in the first days, so a design placed the night before a long flight is better moved earlier in the trip.
Who performs the injection at Dear Clinic?
One of the five directors, and the same one who read your scan and drew the plan on your face. Marking the arterial crossing point, choosing the plane and controlling the injection pressure are treated as a single task performed by one pair of hands from start to finish.

Scientific Evidence

Peer-reviewed references behind mandibular contouring with hyaluronic acid

Two questions decide a jawline injection: which gel has the mechanical properties to hold a contour against a moving mandible, and where the vessels sit that the needle must avoid. The papers listed here cover the physicochemical measurements used to tell hyaluronic acid products apart, the facial assessment and injection guidance for hyaluronic acid placement, the mapped danger zones around the face, the ophthalmic complications reported after facial injection, and the enzyme used when the gel has to come back out.
