Body Onda in Gangnam, Seoul — how the 80 kJ plan is sized

Body Onda is bought as a quantity of energy, so the question worth asking is not what one session costs but how many kilojoules your area is going to ask for, and how that count is arrived at.

Ask How Many Units See the Session Logic
The short answer

What one 80 kJ body Onda session actually buys you

One body Onda session is eighty kilojoules of Coolwaves™ microwave energy, delivered through the body handpiece across a zone agreed before the session starts. Dear Clinic publishes that unit at ₩650,000 (≈ $465). It buys delivered energy and a review afterwards; it does not buy a centimetre figure.

Onda is made by DEKA and runs on Coolwaves™ at 2.45 GHz, a microwave band. That matters for planning, because microwaves couple into water-rich and fat-rich tissue, which is exactly the kind of tissue a body zone has more of than a jawline does. The face line on the same platform is a 60 kJ unit at ₩500,000 (≈ $355), and it is documented separately on the Onda lifting page.

Everything else here follows from the unit being energy. A zone that is broad, or thick, or both, absorbs more of the budget than a small one, so the number of units in a plan is an output of the assessment and never an input to it.

The full platform list, sorted by the depth each device reaches, sits on the lifting and tightening hub, and the treatment page for this line is Onda body contouring.

Choosing the zone

How a zone earns its share of the body Onda budget

Three tests a body zone has to pass before energy is allocated to it. A zone that fails them is quoted nothing, however much it bothers you.

TEST 01

The zone holds something the microwaves can grip

Coolwaves™ need a layer with substance in it. A soft, liftable pocket with slackness in the skin above it is the picture this platform was built around. Firm tissue over bone gives the energy nothing to settle into.

TEST 02

The zone can be reached with even passes

A body applicator has to travel in overlapping runs. Curved ground that the handpiece can be kept flat against — the upper arm, which the clinic’s own Korean programme material names for Onda work, is the clearest example — takes a budget well. Ground that forces the head to lift and drop takes it badly.

TEST 03

The zone can be photographed the same way twice

If a zone cannot be reshot at the same distance, angle and posture months later, there is no way to tell whether the energy did anything. Your director names the landmark and the stance at the first visit, and that becomes the reference for every review.

Session logic

How a body Onda course is counted, unit by unit

Units are bought one at a time here. Nothing is sold as a block of six paid up front, and the reason is arithmetic: until a zone has been through one unit and been looked at again, nobody knows how it answers energy. A plan that turns out to need less simply ends earlier and costs less.

Unit one is delivered to the zone written on your plan, and the kilojoule figure and the zone are both recorded that day.
A review is set weeks out. Firming from a heat-based treatment builds slowly, so a check after a few days measures swelling instead of change.
At review, the same photograph is taken against the landmark agreed at the first visit, and your director reads it beside the baseline.
Whether unit two is worth buying is decided at that point, with the first result in front of both of you.
A large zone may be split across visits so the applicator can work each half properly; a small one may be finished inside a single unit.

Travelling patients ask how this fits one trip. A single unit can be delivered on the day you are assessed; a course cannot be squeezed into four consecutive days, because the interval between units is where the tissue does its part. For a short stay the workable plan is usually one unit now and a review by photograph from home. Plans that run both Onda lines in sequence are quoted line by line before anything begins.

Scope

What a body Onda plan is never asked to do

This page publishes no centimetre and no kilogram figure, and that omission is the honest part of it. Body Onda is localised contour and firmness work on a zone you and your director agreed on, and any number promised for it in advance would have been invented for the promise.

Three things follow. If body weight itself is the concern, an energy device answers the wrong question and the assessment will say so. If the volume in the zone is large, a surgical opinion is the more useful referral. And if the layer beneath the skin reads thin, there is little for microwaves to couple into, so we do not recommend a course of units.

The published literature on this technology is small and is listed at the foot of the page so you can read it yourself. It describes work aimed at localised adiposity, laxity and cellulite, and reported outcomes in it vary widely between the people studied.

Dear, Knowhow

How the kilojoule count for a body zone is decided here

01 — DIAGNOSIS FIRST

The body zone is read before a number is attached to it

EVE Muse 3D capture with five-light-source AI analysis records the surface, and a hands-on examination reads what sits beneath it. Together they separate the fullness that is soft tissue from the slackness in the skin above. The two are budgeted differently, and mistaking one for the other is how a plan ends up the wrong size.

02 — THE FULL ARSENAL

Onda is one body answer among the several on the list

The building also holds focused ultrasound, monopolar and high-density radiofrequency, and injectable options documented on the body and wellness page. Because none of them has to be sold to keep a room busy, the zone can be matched to the platform that suits it. Sometimes that platform is not this one.

03 — DIRECTOR-PERFORMED

Every body Onda pass is director-performed

The cooled head protects the surface. Where it dwells, how the runs overlap and how quickly it moves over a thin patch are decisions, and they are made by the director who read your assessment.

Before & After

What the audited Onda case archive can and cannot show a body patient

Every Onda pair that has passed the clinic’s visual audit and carries consent is a facial case, and one is shown below labelled for what it is. No body Onda pair has cleared that audit, so none is published here.

Caution

The days after a body Onda unit is delivered

A body zone behaves differently from a face after the same platform, mostly because clothing sits on it all day.

Warmth and a pink flush over the treated ground for a few hours. Nothing to cover, and no day to set aside.
Several days in which the zone feels firm, warm or faintly tender, especially under a waistband or a sleeve seam.
A short pause on saunas, jjimjilbang sessions, very hot baths and alcohol, all of which add heat to a layer already carrying it.
Named on purpose because they happen: a tender nodule under the skin, a bruised patch, or a small burn where heat concentrated. Any of those is a same-week call to the clinic.
Patience with the interval: the review photograph weeks later tells you more than any mirror check the next morning.

FAQ

Body Onda in Gangnam, question by question

How many body Onda units will my zone need?
That count comes out of the assessment and is revised as you go, because it depends on how broad the zone is and how thick the layer under it reads. Units are bought singly, so a plan can end earlier than expected without anyone refunding a package.
Why is body Onda priced in kilojoules instead of per body part?
Because a kilojoule is a measurable quantity and a body part is a word. Eighty kilojoules delivered to an upper arm and eighty delivered across a wider zone are the same purchase even though they look different, and quoting the energy is what lets you compare one plan against another.
Is body Onda a weight-loss treatment?
No. It is localised contour and firmness work on a zone agreed in advance, and Dear Clinic publishes no kilogram or centimetre figure for it. If weight is the concern, the assessment will say that plainly and no session is booked on the strength of it.
Which body zones can be treated with Onda here?
The zone is named at the assessment after the area has been examined by hand. The clinic’s own Korean programme material names upper-arm work for Onda; beyond that, what governs the answer is whether the zone holds a soft layer with slackness above it and whether the applicator can be kept flat against it.
Does body Onda hurt, and is there downtime?
The handpiece cools the surface as it delivers, and most people describe deep warmth that rises and eases as the head moves. There is no injection, and comfort measures are confirmed at consultation. Expect warmth and pink skin for a few hours, then a firm, faintly tender zone for several days.
How soon after a body Onda session should I judge it?
Weeks, not days. Firming from a heat-based treatment builds gradually, so the review is set at an interval and the zone is rephotographed against the landmark agreed at your first visit. A check in the mirror the next morning is measuring swelling.
Can a body Onda session be done on the day I arrive in Seoul?
Usually, once your director confirms the zone suits it. Name the zone when you write, because a body appointment holds the applicator much longer than a facial one and the slot has to be sized for it. Dear Clinic is open 365 days a year.
Can one 80 kJ unit be split across two zones?
Within a single session the budget can be divided between zones your director agrees on, which is what buying energy rather than a body part allows. It cannot be carried over, because the unit is delivered in the appointment you booked it for.
Is the body unit more expensive than the facial one because it works better?
No. The body line is 80 kJ against 60 kJ on the face, delivered through a larger applicator across far more ground. The gap between the two published figures is a gap in energy and coverage, so comparing the rates without the kilojoules beside them compares nothing.
Do international patients pay a different rate for body Onda?
No. One written list applies to everyone and there is no visitor surcharge. You settle in Korean won, and any dollar figure shown beside a rate is a reading conversion at a documented rate, so treat it as an approximation.
Can body Onda be combined with facial Onda in one visit?
It can, and each line is quoted separately before anything begins. Having had the facial unit here first is useful information and not a formality: how your tissue answered 60 kJ on the face tells your director something real about sizing a body plan.
What happens if you decide body Onda is wrong for me?
You leave with a recommendation and no session booked. That happens when the layer under the zone reads too thin for microwaves to couple into, when the real issue is body weight, or when the volume calls for a surgical opinion. The assessment ends by naming what would suit you instead.

Scientific Evidence

Indexed literature behind body Onda microwave work

Microwave body technology has a smaller published record than the ultrasound and radiofrequency platforms beside it on the same list, and that is worth knowing before a plan is sized. Three indexed papers are given below; a fourth that has since been retracted is deliberately kept off this page.

Each entry resolves to a DOI and is listed as literature about the technology. It is cited here to describe what has been studied, and follow-up windows in these papers run out to nine months.
