Back Acne Treatment in Cheongdam, Gangnam, Seoul

Truncal skin is thicker, its glands are larger and its lesions sit deeper than anything on a cheek, so the routes that settle facial breakouts are applied differently across a back. Two device lines are published here, and how much of a back either of them covers is settled with you in the room.

Why acne on the back is a different problem from acne on the cheek

Back acne is treated at Dear Clinic with two published device lines: Agnes, an insulated microneedle radiofrequency system that heats one sebaceous gland at a time, and CureJet, a needle-free jet injector. Both are listed as full-face lines on the price sheet, so the area of a back either can cover, and what that is charged at, is confirmed with your director at the consultation.
01

Thicker skin over larger glands

The dermis across the upper back is heavier than facial skin and the sebaceous units beneath it are bigger. A setting calibrated for a jawline has a different job to do once it is working through that depth.

02

Lesions that arrive deep

Truncal breakouts tend to present as firm, tender nodules, where a face more often collects surface papules. Depth is what makes them slow to settle and slow to forgive being squeezed.

03

Marks that outstay the spot

Pigment left behind on a back frequently lasts longer than the lesion that caused it, partly because the area is rubbed by clothing and partly because sunscreen rarely reaches it.

04

Friction, sweat and kit

Straps, packs, gym benches and damp fabric keep a mechanical element in play that a face never has. Any plan that ignores what sits against the skin all day is working against an input it did not measure.

The distribution matters as much as the lesion type. A belt across the shoulders and upper back behaves differently from scattered activity down the lower back, and the two are quoted differently because the field is a different size. Facial acne, where you also have it, is planned on its own axis and described through the hormonal acne page; the overview of every acne and pigment route on this floor is the laser, pigment and acne hub.

Before anything is switched on

How a back is assessed at the first appointment

Step 01

The field is mapped, not glanced at

Your director looks at where lesions cluster, how deep the active ones sit, and how much of what you are seeing is old pigment and how much is current inflammation. Those are three separate findings and they lead to three different answers.

Step 02

The face is scanned where it is also involved

EVE Muse 3D imaging under five light sources with AI analysis reads facial skin, so where breakouts run above and below the collar the facial half of the plan is built on that reading and the truncal half on direct examination.

Step 03

Coverage and figure are agreed in the room

Because both lines are published as full-face rates, the size of the area to be treated on your back and what it will be charged at are settled with you before a date is held.

Photographs are taken under fixed lighting at that first visit so the next appointment has something to compare against. A back is the one area nobody can monitor for themselves, and memory is a poor instrument for judging whether a field of nodules is quieter than it was six weeks ago.

What is published

The two device lines Dear Clinic runs for truncal acne

LINE 01

Agnes, insulated microneedle radiofrequency

The needle shaft is insulated along its length, so the surface is spared while radiofrequency heats the target gland at depth. The published use is active and recurrent acne, plus pores, and it is the route for lesions that keep returning to the same patch of skin. Device detail sits on the Agnes page.

LINE 02

CureJet, needle-free jet delivery

A jet injector pushes solution through the skin under pressure without a needle passing through it. On a back it is used where a broad plane needs working instead of individual glands being picked off one by one. Detail sits on the CureJet page.

HOW THEY COMBINE

One field, sometimes two approaches

A back carrying both deep recurring nodules and a wider inflamed plane may be planned with both lines across a course. Whether that is sensible on your skin, and what the combination is charged at, is decided at the consultation and never assumed from a photograph.

Both entries carry a full-face rate on the published sheet. That figure is what a face is charged; a back is a larger and differently shaped field, so the area covered per visit and the rate applying to it are confirmed in the room before any treatment is booked. We would rather tell you that plainly than print a body figure this clinic has not published.

Stated limits

What this page does not claim about truncal acne

No medication claims are made here. Whether anything should be taken by mouth or applied at home is a medical decision that belongs to a doctor examining you in person. This page describes device work and nothing beyond it.
No device is named that is not on this floor. Truncal acne attracts a long list of machines online. What Dear Clinic publishes for it is the two lines above, and a scan pointing somewhere else earns a straight answer instead of a substitution.
No clearance is promised. Acne is a condition that comes and goes with hormones, season and habit. Device work reduces activity in a treated field; it does not switch off the biology underneath it.
No figure is invented for a body field. The two lines are listed at a full-face rate, and the coverage a back receives is priced with you at the consultation.
No scar work is folded in silently. Marks left by old truncal acne are a separate conversation from active lesions, and the sequence used for scarring is set out on the acne scar laser page.
Afterwards

What a treated back looks like in the days after a session

Described patterns, not promises. Your own window is given at the review, because field size and setting both move it.

After gland-targeted radiofrequency — heat and a hot flush across the treated belt, with small entry points where the needles landed and swelling that is often firmest the following morning.
After jet delivery — redness and a puffy, tight feel over the treated plane, without the pinpoint pattern the needle route leaves behind.
Clothing is the variable a face never has — loose cotton over a treated back is a great deal more comfortable than a strap or a waistband sitting on it.
Named risks — bruising, swelling, burns, infection where the surface has been opened, temporary darkening of treated skin and, less commonly, lasting lightening of it. Results vary between individuals.

Sweat, friction and heat are paused for a window your director specifies, which usually means the gym waits and a hot shower over the treated area is kept short. Sunscreen matters on a back that will see daylight, because pigment arriving after a session can outlast the lesion that was treated. Anything hot, painful and spreading on the third day is a reason to call the clinic instead of waiting for the next appointment.

Dear, Knowhow

Why a truncal plan here is quoted in the room and not online

01 — THE FULL ARSENAL

Gland-level heat and plane-level delivery in one building

Agnes and CureJet sit on the same floor, so a back that needs the insulated needle gets it and a back that needs the jet gets that, with no incentive to run one field through whichever machine happens to be free.

02 — DIAGNOSIS FIRST

Active lesions and old pigment are counted separately

Half of what people photograph on their own back is colour left by breakouts that finished months ago. Treating pigment as if it were inflammation buys visits that were never going to change anything.

03 — DIRECTOR-PERFORMED

The hand that maps the field works it

Your session is director-performed from the mapping through to the last pass. On a field nobody can see for themselves, the person who drew the map being the person holding the handpiece is the whole safeguard.

Published rates

What the two truncal acne lines are listed at in Cheongdam

Both lines appear on the published sheet as full-face rates. Agnes is listed at ₩250,000 (≈ $180) and CureJet at ₩500,000 (≈ $355). A back is a larger and differently shaped field, so the coverage a visit provides and the rate that applies to it are confirmed at your consultation before anything is booked.

Consultation, imaging and aftercare arrangements are explained at the visit, and the full sheet sits on the price list.

Caution

Looking after a treated back in the week that follows

Wear loose cotton and keep straps, packs and tight waistbands off the treated field.
Pause the gym, the sauna and long hot showers for the window your director specifies.
Let entry points and any small crusts shed by themselves; picking at what you cannot see clearly is how a temporary mark becomes a lasting one.
Change out of damp kit quickly and wash it more often than feels necessary while a field is settling.
Call the clinic if the area becomes hotter and more painful on the third day than on the first, or if it blisters.

FAQ

Back and truncal acne in Cheongdam, answered

Can back acne be treated with the same devices you use on a face?
The two lines published for acne here, Agnes and CureJet, are the same platforms used above the collar, applied to a thicker field at settings chosen for it. What changes is depth, field size and spacing, all of which your director sets after examining the area rather than transferring a facial protocol onto a back.
Are Agnes and CureJet published as body rates?
No. Both appear on the sheet as full-face lines, at ₩250,000 (≈ $180) and ₩500,000 (≈ $355) respectively. Because a back is a larger and differently shaped field, the coverage one visit provides and the rate that applies to it are confirmed with you at the consultation. We do not print a truncal figure that this clinic has not published.
Do you prescribe tablets or creams for back acne?
Anything taken by mouth or applied at home is a medical decision made by a doctor who has examined you, and it is not something this page describes or promises. Bring whatever you are already using, prescribed or bought, to the consultation so the device plan is built around it.
Can my chest and shoulders be treated in the same appointment as my back?
Often they can, since truncal acne rarely respects an anatomical boundary. Whether the whole belt is worked in one sitting depends on the total field size and how your skin handled the first pass, and what that combined area is charged at is settled in the room before the visit is booked.
Why do the marks on my back last so much longer than the ones on my face?
Three things stack up: truncal lesions start deeper, so more inflammation is involved; the area is constantly rubbed by clothing; and almost nobody applies sunscreen to their own back. Pigment left after a lesion is a separate finding from an active lesion and is counted separately when the field is mapped.
Does the gym make truncal acne worse?
Sweat trapped under tight synthetic fabric and pressure from straps, benches and packs are mechanical inputs a face never has to deal with. None of that is a cause on its own, but it reliably keeps a field irritated between visits, which is why the habit questions are asked at the consultation alongside the skin ones.
How many visits will my back need?
A range is written against your own field at the first appointment and revised at each review. Deep truncal lesions answer more slowly than facial ones, and the size of the area changes the arithmetic, so a number quoted before anyone has looked at your back would be a guess dressed as a plan.
What does the area look like immediately after a session?
The needle route leaves heat, a hot flush across the belt and small entry points, with swelling frequently firmest the next morning. Jet delivery leaves redness and a tight, puffy feel without the pinpoint pattern. Loose cotton and a cool room make the first evening considerably easier than a fitted shirt does.
Is there a back you would refuse to treat?
Yes. Skin that is acutely inflamed, weeping or crusted across a wide area is not a field we would put energy through, and a fresh tan across the shoulders moves the date. Where the appearance suggests something other than acne, an assessment comes before any device, and we say so instead of booking a course.
Can the first session run on the day I come in?
Frequently, where the field is calm enough and the diary allows. The examination, the mapping and the agreed figure come first. The rooms open 365 days a year, so a second date is usually easy to find if the first has to move, as set out on the weekend opening page.
I am visiting Seoul for a short trip. Is one session worth booking?
One visit can quieten active lesions in a mapped field, and that is a real outcome for a short stay. What it will not do is finish a course, because truncal skin answers across weeks. Book early in the trip if you would rather not spend the last evening in a fitted shirt over a treated back.
How do I get an opinion before I fly in?
Send the consultation form with photographs of the whole area taken in even light, plus one close range shot of the most active patch, and say how long you are in the city. We reply in English as soon as possible with the line we expect to propose and what still has to be settled in the room, which you can also arrange through the English consultation page.

Scientific Evidence

Published work behind gland-targeted radiofrequency for acne

The insulated microneedle route has a published record built around selective heating of the sebaceous gland. The studies below include a prospective randomised controlled trial of that technique, an earlier prospective pilot of the same idea, a case series in Korean patients treated with fractionated microneedle radiofrequency, and a split-face comparison of two fractional radiofrequency designs in moderate to severe disease.

Each reference carries a resolvable DOI from an indexed journal, and all of them describe facial work. They inform how depth, energy and spacing are approached; applying that thinking to a thicker truncal field is a judgement your director makes in the room, and outcomes vary between individuals.
