Direct Answer

What an aesthetic clinic can do about hormonal acne

We can treat the lesions and the skin around them: gland-targeted radiofrequency on the spots that keep returning, needle-free delivery into deeper ones, a toning course for the marks left behind, and micro-dosed toxin where oil and surface texture dominate. We do not manage hormones, and no route on this page ends acne for good.

That division matters more in adult acne than in teenage acne. When the trigger sits in the endocrine system, in a medication, or in a cycle, device work is managing the output of the problem while something else drives it. A plan that pretends otherwise takes your money on a schedule.

So the consultation starts with your own history: where lesions return, whether they track a monthly pattern, what you have already taken, and what a physician has already told you. That information decides how much of the answer is ours to give.

Reading the Pattern

How adult acne behaves, and why that changes the plan

Three features that separate acne arriving in your thirties from acne that never left your teens.

01

It is deeper, and it sits low on the face

Tender lesions along the lower third, often the same handful of locations each time. They take longer to resolve and leave more behind than a surface breakout.

02

It repeats in the same places

Most people can point to their own spots from memory. That repetition is diagnostic: it suggests a small number of particular glands doing the work, which is precisely the situation a gland-targeted approach was built for, and a broad even pass across the whole face tends to skim past.

03

It arrives with something else attached

Marks, uneven surface and a skin barrier already irritated by whatever you tried before coming in. Adult acne rarely presents alone, and each layer is priced and planned as its own job.

Bring your own record to the consultation if you have one. Dates of flares, what coincided with them, what helped last time and for how long — that history is information a scan cannot produce, and it regularly changes which zones get marked on the first visit and which are left entirely alone.

What We Actually Run

Four in-clinic routes for adult acne, with what each one is for

Each has a published rate. None of them is bought as a set, and most plans use two at most.

RouteHow it worksThe finding it is aimed atListed rate
Agnes, insulated microneedle radiofrequencyA fine needle with an insulated shaft releases radiofrequency only at its tip, so heat reaches the targeted sebaceous gland while the surface above it is spared. PTT and MLA methods are used for different jobs. The lesion that returns to the same spot; visible pores₩250,000 (≈ $180) full face
CureJetA jet injector drives material into the skin under pressure, with no needle passing through the surface.Deeper lesions and the tethered, uneven skin they leave₩500,000 (≈ $355) full face
Dual laser toning with in-clinic skincareLow-fluence 1064 nm Nd:YAG passes across a field, run as a dual-wavelength session with skincare included in the same appointment. The brown and dusky marks left after lesions settle₩200,000 (≈ $145) per session
Full-face skin botox, Korean tierBotulinum toxin diluted heavily and delivered as many shallow micro-droplets across the face, spread through the skin layer instead of concentrated into a muscle.Oiliness and coarse surface texture across the whole face₩150,000 (≈ $105)

Published rates as of September 2026, the same for Korean residents and for international patients, with no foreigner surcharge. The KRW figure is what you pay and the USD figure beside it is a reference conversion. Your own plan is written out with its total before anything is switched on, and the number of visits it runs to is discussed at that point.

Each of the four has a full treatment page of its own: Agnes, CureJet, dual laser toning and skin botox. Where old lesions have left texture rather than colour, that work sits on the acne scar page, and the whole energy-device category is set out on the laser, pigment and acne hub.

The Boundary

What no device in this building can do about a hormonal driver

Read this part before the pricing. It is the section that saves people money.

Nothing here cures acne. Acne has genetic, hormonal and behavioural drivers, and a device addresses a defined slice of that picture. Anyone offering you a permanent end to it is selling a sentence they cannot stand behind.
We make no claim about your hormones. This clinic does not test, diagnose or manage endocrine conditions, and no treatment listed above acts on a hormonal driver. The word "hormonal" on this page describes the pattern you are seeing, and it is not a statement about what we are treating.
Systemic medication is a physician's decision. Oral treatment for moderate to severe acne belongs with a doctor who can examine you, take bloods where needed and follow you over months. Where your presentation calls for that, we will say so and treat nothing that day.
Some skin should not be treated this week. Actively inflamed, broken or recently over-exfoliated skin, certain current medications, and a flare at its peak are all reasons we reschedule. A session pushed through on irritated skin costs you a visit and gains nothing.

When to see a physician before you see us

If lesions are numerous, deep and scarring, if the pattern changed abruptly, if it arrived alongside irregular cycles, marked hair changes or sudden weight change, or if you are already on a medication known to provoke acne, that is a medical consultation first. We are happy to be the second appointment.

What we do while that runs in parallel

Plenty, usually. Treating individual recurring lesions and the marks they leave sits comfortably alongside medical management, provided your prescribing doctor knows what is being done. Tell us what you are taking, including anything topical, because a few of them change what can safely be done on the day.

The Order of Work

How an adult acne plan is sequenced here, visit by visit

Inflammation first, marks second. Running them together makes both harder to read.

STAGE 01

Scan, history, and a marked map

EVE Muse photographs the face in 3D under five light sources with AI analysis, separating oil distribution, live inflammation and older marks. Your own account of where lesions repeat is added to it, and only the points agreed on are marked.

STAGE 02

Settle the active lesions

Gland-targeted work on the marked points, or jet delivery where the lesion sits deeper. This is deliberately slow work; a face carrying many active lesions becomes a plan across visits, and that is said out loud at booking.

STAGE 03

Then, and only then, the marks

A toning course is started once inflammation has quietened. Beginning it during an active flare risks treating a moving target and can darken what it was meant to lighten.

STAGE 04

Review against the stored capture

Your first capture goes back on screen at each review, which is what makes a decision to stop possible. Individual responses vary, and a plan that never ends is a plan nobody is reviewing.

One scheduling note worth acting on: if your skin flares on a predictable cycle, say so when you book. There are weeks in a month when a session is worth more than others, and placing it sensibly against your own pattern beats taking the first free slot.

Afterwards, the Colour

Post-acne marks, and the limits of a toning course

What a toning session is charged at and what it contains

A dual-wavelength low-fluence session with in-clinic skincare, listed at ₩200,000 (≈ $145). Colour left behind after lesions settle is worked gradually across sessions, at settings kept deliberately low.

Where the mark is a dent or a tether in the surface instead of a colour, no amount of toning addresses it, and that work is priced and planned separately.

The published risk of repeating low-fluence work

Mottled loss of pigment has been described in the literature after repeated low-fluence 1064 nm treatment, and the long-term value of the approach has been questioned in print as well. Both papers are listed at the foot of this page because you are entitled to read them.

That is the reason energy here is dialled down, sessions are spaced, and a course is stopped when the capture stops changing. We would rather end a course early than keep selling passes into skin that has finished responding.

Dear, Knowhow

Why an adult acne plan is worth having read here

01 — THE FULL ARSENAL

Every acne route is on our own published list

Gland-targeted radiofrequency, jet delivery, toning, micro-dosed toxin and the scar platforms are all in the building, all with rates you can read before you arrive.

02 — DIAGNOSIS FIRST

Oil, inflammation and old marks are separated before anything is marked

EVE Muse 3D imaging with five-light-source analysis pulls apart the three things that look like one congested face at arm's length. It is also what catches the plans that should not start: a barrier too irritated to treat this week, or a presentation that belongs with a physician before it belongs with a device.

03 — DIRECTOR-PERFORMED

Each marked lesion is treated by the doctor who read the scan

Selective work is slow and depends entirely on where the tip is placed and how much energy it carries. Sessions here are director-performed, point by point, which is the reason the appointment takes as long as it does.

Around Each Visit

What an adult acne session asks of you afterwards

Redness, swelling and small crusts at treated points. Expected after gland-targeted work, settling over the following days in most people. Leave them alone while they do.
Bruising is possible, particularly with jet delivery. More likely on thin or previously inflamed skin, and worth allowing for before any event.
Sun is the fastest way to undo mark work. Sunscreen every morning, indoors included, for as long as your director specifies. Pigment provoked after a session is harder to shift than what you came in with.
Pause the strong actives. Retinoids, acids and scrubs go on hold for the window you are given, and you will be told when to restart each one.
Call the clinic if something is worsening on day three. Heat, spreading redness or a point that is more painful than it was on the day is a reason to be examined in person.

We are open every day of the year, so a check-in visit does not have to wait for a weekday, and a plan spread over several sessions can be spaced by your skin instead of by our opening hours. Consultation is conducted in English.

FAQ

Adult and hormonal acne, question by question

Can a Korean aesthetic clinic treat hormonal acne?
It can treat the lesions, the oil and the marks, which is a meaningful part of the problem and often the part you can see. It cannot act on a hormonal driver. If the pattern suggests one, the sensible order is a medical consultation for the systemic side and in-clinic work alongside it, with each doctor knowing what the other is doing.
How much does hormonal acne treatment cost in Cheongdam, Seoul?
It depends which routes your plan uses. At Dear Clinic gland-targeted radiofrequency is ₩250,000 (≈ $180) for a full face, jet delivery is ₩500,000 (≈ $355), a toning session with skincare is ₩200,000 (≈ $145), and full-face skin botox on the Korean tier is ₩150,000 (≈ $105). Your own total is written out before anything begins.
Will this stop my acne coming back?
No treatment here ends acne permanently, and we will not tell you otherwise. What gland-targeted work aims at is the particular lesion that returns to the same place, and what the rest of the plan aims at is the damage each flare leaves. Whether new lesions appear depends on drivers a device does not reach.
Do you prescribe medication for acne here?
Systemic acne medication is a decision for a physician who can examine you, monitor you and follow the course over months, and that is where those conversations belong. What this page covers is in-clinic device and injection work. If your presentation calls for the medical route first, you will be told at the consultation and nothing will be treated that day.
Why does my acne sit along my jaw and chin?
That lower-face distribution is the one most commonly described in adult acne, and it tends to come with deeper, more tender lesions that repeat in a small number of places. The pattern is useful information at the consultation, though it is a clue about how to plan the treatment and not a diagnosis of any underlying cause.
How many sessions will I need?
We do not publish a number, because it depends on how many lesions are active, how deep they sit and what your history shows. The plan is described at the consultation with the cost of each visit stated, and each session is paid as it happens, so nothing is prepaid and you can stop at any review.
Can I treat active lesions and old marks in the same visit?
Usually we separate them. Toning across inflamed skin risks provoking more colour than it removes, so the order here is to quieten what is active first and start the mark work once the face has settled. Where your capture shows a face that is already calm, both can sometimes run together, and your director will say which applies.
Is skin botox useful for acne?
It is aimed at surface oil and coarse texture across a whole face, so it sits alongside lesion work rather than replacing it. Full-face skin botox on the Korean tier is ₩150,000 (≈ $105) here. If the diagnosis says active inflammation is the main issue, that gets addressed first and this stays a later conversation.
Does gland-targeted radiofrequency hurt, and what is the downtime?
Comfort measures are confirmed at consultation, which is the step that decides how the session feels. Afterwards expect redness, some swelling and small crusts at the treated points for a few days. Plan around anything important in that window, and leave the treated points alone while they settle.
Will you refuse to treat me?
On some days, yes. Skin that is acutely inflamed or barrier-damaged, certain current medications, and a presentation that needs medical management first are all reasons we reschedule or decline. A session pushed through on skin in that state costs you a visit and risks making the week worse.
I am visiting Seoul for a short trip. Is one session worth booking?
For a small number of specific recurring lesions, one session is a complete piece of work and obliges you to nothing further. For a widely active face or for mark work, a single visit is the opening of a plan you would be continuing at home, and we will tell you which of the two you are before you book anything.
What should I bring to the first consultation?
A bare face if possible, the names of everything you are currently using on your skin, any prescriptions you are taking, and your own account of when flares happen. Prescription topicals matter most, because a few of them change what can safely be done on the day and one or two mean we reschedule.

Scientific Evidence

Scientific evidence for gland-targeted radiofrequency and for the mark route

Four of the sources below examine radiofrequency delivered through microneedles for inflammatory acne, including a randomised controlled study of selective sebaceous gland electrothermolysis and a split-face comparison of two device configurations. The final two concern low-fluence 1064 nm toning, and they are listed here because one describes mottled loss of pigment after repeated treatment and the other questions the long-term result.

They are given with their DOIs so the primary material can be read in full. None of them concerns hormonal management, none studies this clinic, and none predicts your own course.
