The soft shadow between chin and neck is produced by three different tissues, and each one answers to a different tool. A plan written before anyone has felt which layer is dominant is a guess with a price attached.
People arrive having already decided the answer is fat, because that is the version the internet sells. Plenty of the time it is. Often enough it is skin that has lost its recoil over the same pad, so a treatment aimed only at volume would leave a smaller pocket under looser cover. Occasionally the dominant feature is muscular, and that is the reading where the useful answer at a non-surgical clinic is a frank no.
This page is about the submental triangle only. Width across the lower face is a separate question answered by muscle, gland and bone, and horizontal lines and slack across the front of the neck belong to the lifting and tightening category.
They also respond to entirely different physics, which is why the examination comes before the quote.
A soft pad sitting above the muscle sheet, between the chin and the front of the neck. It pinches easily between two fingers, it stays put when you tense, and it is largely independent of body weight in the sense that thin people have it too. This is the layer an injected area plan is aimed at.
Skin that has lost recoil drapes over whatever is beneath it, so the same pad reads heavier at forty than at twenty-five. You can see this one directly: skin that is slow to spring back when lifted and released, and a border between jaw and neck that has softened without the pocket growing.
A thin sheet of muscle running up the neck and across the jaw border. When its tone or its edges dominate the picture, no amount of work on fat or skin addresses what you are actually seeing, and the responsible answer from a non-surgical clinic is to name the specialty that does.
There is a fourth factor that is not a layer at all. A short or recessed chin, a low hyoid position, and habitual forward head posture all shorten the visible line between jaw and neck without any excess tissue being present. Nothing on the rate card below alters skeletal proportion, and a plan that ignores this part of the reading disappoints reliably.
It starts with hands. The pad is pinched at rest, then again while the tissue below it is tensed, because fat that sits above the muscle sheet behaves differently under that manoeuvre from tissue that does not. The skin is lifted and released to judge recoil. The jaw border is traced from the chin back towards the ear to find where it stops being a line.
Then the instruments. EVE Muse captures the face in 3D under five light sources with AI analysis, and the profile is recorded at a fixed distance and a neutral head position so a later comparison has something reliable to sit against. Two phone photographs taken at different chin angles can show a transformation that never happened, which is the main reason a baseline is taken here rather than accepted from a gallery.
The reading is what produces the plan, in this order: which layer dominates, whether a second layer is involved enough to need its own route, whether the finding is skeletal or muscular and therefore outside what these four lines do, and only then how much of anything is needed. No session count is promised in advance and no centimetre figure is quoted, because neither can be known before the tissue has been examined.
Read the layer column before the rate column. A route aimed at a layer that is not driving your silhouette is money spent on the wrong tissue.
| Route | Physics | Layer it reaches | Listed rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lipolysis injection | Injected, quoted by the 40 cc area unit | The submental fat compartment. The area is drawn on you and worked across a grid, and it is the only one of the four aimed squarely at volume under the chin | ₩80,000 (≈ $55) |
| Onda | Coolwaves microwaves, quoted in kJ | Water-rich soft tissue and the overlying skin together. A route for the reading where the pad is modest and the cover has softened around it | ₩500,000 (≈ $355) |
| Shurink Universe | Focused ultrasound, quoted by the shot | The deeper supporting layer under the jaw border, where laxity rather than volume is what has blurred the line | ₩150,000 (≈ $105) |
| Jawline skin botox | Superficial micro-dosed botulinum toxin | The surface along the jaw border and the fine lines of the upper neck. A finishing route for line quality, and never a treatment for the pad itself | ₩100,000 (≈ $70) |
Rates are published in KRW with an approximate dollar figure beside them and are the same whichever passport is on the file. Each line is a unit rate, so what a plan costs depends on how many units your reading calls for, and that figure is written down and agreed with you before anything begins. The full card is on the published price list, and the wider non-surgical contour range sits on the body contouring page.
The area under the chin swells visibly and publicly. Nobody should book it for the week of an event without knowing that.
Comfort measures during a submental session are confirmed at your consultation and are set to the route and to you. Tell your director about bleeding disorders, blood-thinning medication, autoimmune conditions, thyroid disease, previous treatment or surgery in the same area, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
EVE Muse captures in 3D under five light sources with AI analysis, and the profile is recorded at a neutral head position alongside a hands-on reading of the pad and the skin recoil. The plan is written against that reading, and the same capture is what the review compares against.
All four routes are run in this building, so the recommendation is not shaped by what is available. Where the reading says the dominant layer is muscle or bone, the answer is that none of the four is right, which is an answer a single-device clinic cannot give.
Depth under the chin is unforgiving, with a nerve to the lower lip and the platysma both close to the working field. Your treatment is director-performed, and the doctor who examined the layer is the one holding the needle or the handpiece and reading the result at the follow-up.

Director-performed treatment is a Dear promise — your procedure is planned and performed by the doctors below.

I've visited clinic for LDM procedure. I don't speak Korean, so there was an interpreter who assisted me while consulting. The staff was very attentive, they asked me every time before applying products/covering my face during the procedure and it went smoothly. Planning to visit the clini…
All the staff are kind, the doctor is professional. They recommended us the treatment that fit us best and last the longest. A very nice experience overall.
I did a hydrofacial, white/black head removal, and 1 day lasers. Really kind staff and reasonable prices. The only thing I would advise is that your first consultation is with a salesperson and you don’t see the doctor until after you decide what you want and after you pay.
Had a great experience here as a foreigner! The doctors and staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and not pushy. They made recommendations in my consultation and were happy to work within my budget.

Six indexed entries are listed below. Three concern injectable reduction of submental fat: a 2014 randomised study, a 2016 phase 3 trial, and a 2024 systematic review of the management of serious adverse events. Three concern focused ultrasound in the face and neck, two of them carried out in Asian skin.
Each is given as title, journal and year with a verifiable DOI, reproduced exactly as indexed. The compounds named in those titles describe the products studied in those trials and are not a statement about what is used here. No outcome figure from any of them is reproduced, and none is a prediction about your own result.
